I don't mind them. I'll get used games, usualy when they have buy 2 get 1 free. I'll reserves games there as well, since that wa yI know I'll get a seal copy.
Not the first place I would go to. I tend to buy games from GS when they have those pre-order dlc which I dislike or look for use game that isn't sold elsewhere before I start buying it online.
I haven't been there in a while, but when I did go I never had a problem with them. I mainly bought used games from them though.
My only beef with them is M games and if I want to trade something in my parents have to come with me.I know,I know they are right, but I can just go to wal-mart or even best buy and they will give me the game. Heck,it got me pissed off that I couldnt buy Splinter Cell:CT because it was M rated.
I went into gamestop and they were selling some games that were used for more than I could get at Walmart brand new (Cod 4 with mappacks). So no. I dont like paying above new prices for used games.
I get most of my games from Gamestop, so, yeah, I guess.I've never had a problem with them.
Funnily enough, the guys at the store my roommate and I go to actually know us because we go in so often.
There isn't one near me, only an EB Games.siLVURcross
For all practical purposes they're the same thing. As for myself, we have two in the area and I only like one of them.
No. I've never actually made a purchase there, but I've never liked the atmosphere. I hate that the whole shopping experience is designed around the concept that I'm a "gamer".
Give me a nice big-box retailer like Target, where you could just as well be there to buy a dishwasher.
I do love GS for the used games and for the accessories you cant find anywhere esle. I use to do a lot of business with them until I realized OR got sick of being ripped off by trading games and getting nothing in return. Now just OLD used games/accessories.
Bu bu bu BAD for PC games. Great for xbox/PS3 games. You can get basically any game (that didn't come out THAT recently) for quite cheap used. And they guarantee that the game will work, so you dont need to worry like with Ebay and etc. Its just great for xbox games.
PC gamers shouldnt vote in this poll because gamestop just really isnt for PC games lol. Its just a sidenote added on (at least I hope, their PC game selection sucks)
I've only had one problem with them regarding a game I had pre-ordered; I'll never pre-order a game there again. But, putting that aside, I don't have a problem shopping there. Racer_XLRSo you had one problem therefore you will never pre order again? People make mistakes, it is inevitable.
I wouldn't know as I don't have a GameStop near me the game store I buy most of my games from are Grainger Games.
Take out game and return it in time :P Did it with a couple meh games.i like them for their free renting service

Don't like them, they basically run a big scam and people always fall for it. And they always ask me for ID..... I mean dang it do I look young or something >: | SAGE_OF_FIREPeople need to know the difference between a scam and a business. But if you have to get IDed then you probably aren't old enough to understand simple Business tactics that if you owned a business you would be doing the exact same thing. IF you aren't old enough to buy alcohol or go to clubs then you better get used to getting IDed until you are bald or have a head of grey hair.
Definitely. I pre-order from their only, and that's the place I make all my impulse buys(Alone in the Dark: Inferno, God of War Collection, Lost Odyssey)

As scam I mean swapping the sale of new games for used games only a couple months after a release of a game. This completely rips off the developers who do not see a dime of this. Meanwhile Gamestop makes huge profits by buying used games cheap and selling them just under the price of a new game. They also open new games then repackage them for a sale as a new game, and I've heard plenty of stories of managers allowing the employees to take home these new games to play for a bit. And I am old enough to go to clubs if I really wanted to ;)
Their website is one of the worst places I've ever had the misfortune of ordering from Juggernaut140
Their website is a piece of ****, but their store is great, especially if you're a regular and are friends of the employees(I got one complementary pre-order for my birthday from the staff at my local GS:D)

And about the opened new games, while that is very annoying, it rarely happens. It's not that big of a problem. And you dont have to take the game either.
Sure. It is the only game store around me, other than Wal-Mart and F.Y.E...... GameCrazy and Play 'N' Trade closed down recently. :(
The only thing I don't like is the employees. They are either very talkative (As in, they want to get into long conversations about games, even if that means holding up the line) or just jerks.
No. They bother you non stop about pre-order this, pre-order that. If you dont preorder something then they refuse to sell it to you the first day. The guys there always act like, they know more about games then you, when they haven't got **** on me when it comes to game knowledge lol.. And its impossible to buy a game that came out before 2001 there. for a games only store thats really really lame.
back in December I was looking for NCAA 10 football, I went into a gamestop and asked if they had it, "No sir we don't have it new, They stop making new games two months after release so you'll have to buy it used"...I knew it was B.S. but I looked at the used NCAA 10, they wanted 57.99 for it. Just two dollars cheaper then one for new. I went to Best Buy the next day and bought it new.
