I was thinking about this the other day and was wondering if everyone liked platform games better. I do, because you dont have to constantly update a console, worry about it being hacked*, or pay $650.00 for it in the first place.

I prefer game consoles. I like playing things other than MMORPGs, FPSs, RTSs and WRPGs. And honestly I prefer game pads. Give me the mouse superiority lecture all day, I don't care. And I don't know how to build and upgrade computers. And most of my friends play on consoles... Soo...

Pc. Mods,Rts games,M+KB, cheaper games, better graphics ( yes yes i know gameplay is more important but still graphics are a plus)

These are pretty terrible reasons.
1. You don't have to constantly update a PC software or hardware wise. All you need is about 600 dollars and you got yourself a PC that would last about 2-3 years. Even then you can probably run future games on medium. Software wise are drivers but those aren't mandatory. On the other hand, software updates for consoles are present all the time.
2. Don't go to bad sites. There are literally thousands of free antivirus software and not getting viruses is easier than people believe.
3. Right, 650 dollars would give you a 2-3 year PC. Besides, there are always cheaper games on PC so you save a lot if you buy a ton of games.
4. You can use controllers on PC too.
I like them both for different reasons TBH.
I like the superior hardware and the tweaking included with owning a gaming PC.
then again.
I like the Minimalist, more relaxing experience of using a console.
It's more fun to play games with friends and the controller adds a lot of excitement to games. Not saying you can't play Pc games with friends but in most cases it's not that easy and requires you to install all sorts of programs.Jamex1987Which take the sum total of 3 minutes to do at most. Alot of these time complaints are really counting crumbs. If anything, consoles are becomming just as bad with their mandatory installs and their patches and whatnot.

I can use a 360 controler fine on my PC.
All you need for easy game organizing on PC is Steam and of course, a game.

You can hardly make new friends in the majority of Pc games since they are so alienated. A patch for a 360 game takes a few seconds in case you didn't know.
[QUOTE="siLVURcross"]Consoles because that's where a majority of my favorite RPGs are on.OntainJRPGs i'm guessing. because the PC has a ton of great RPGs. Yea JRPGs, I gotta check out some PC RPGs when I get the time as well. Hearing good things about games like The Witcher and such.

Err, you have to make sure all your friends have the same game with console online play.
Maybe you should try PC gaming before you talk about it?
you clearly have no idea.

It merely makes the experience all the more enjoyable. You don't have to use ventrillo or x-fire, but the codecs they offer are thousands of times better than anything on XBL or PSN. You spend 3 minutes getting astronomically better quality. Sounds like a fair trade to me. It is relatively easy to make PC gaming friends too. I have an x-fire list with about 300 people from a wide assortment of video games. It sure is a lot less awkward than meeting people on XBL.

Do you type an in-game message asking others for their xfire username? Not all games have steam built-in you know. The only requirements for COD4 online play are COD4 and an internet connection.
You don't even need something like X-fire, you can just talk to your friends in real life *gasp*, and COD4 is on steam, as are most major PC games.
It's really not all that different than a console, it's just better.

Talk to my friend in real life? I don't know exactly what that means but my friends live all over the world. Kind of like a best-of list that we all use. If we want to play together just call each other up and be like, "Get on foo". Nothing I wouldn't do with console gaming buddies. As far as making friends on the PC version goes, I usually just pug, play in the same pubs, or hang out on CAL. I know each and every person on my xfire list. It isn't incredibly hard to make friends.

Why is it that almost every time someone prefers a console over a PC they're so damn ignorant about technology?
Nokanhav
They're only ignorant, when they state invalid reasons as to why consoles are "better" than PC's. An opinion can't be argued with, but saying something that is completely false or inaccurate, can be.

I'm not ignorant of PC and network technology and I prefer console games over PC, with the caveat of Blizzard studios because everything they make is so unbelievably polished and addicting.
PC doesn't really excel in the genres I play.
i'm in the middle, i use both my pc and my 360 and ps3 for different games. 360 for multiplatform and multiplayer games, ps3 for it's exclusive games and the PC for RPGs, Strategy and some FPSs (battlefield and when it comes out AvP as i played the previous ones on PC). though i've never understood why consoles don't have keyboards and mice and if they do have the support why is it not advertised.
JRPGs and action adventure games?[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"][QUOTE="Catpee"]PC doesn't really excel in the genres I play.Catpee
LOL, god no. Those are actually a couple of my least favorite.
Fighting and sports games.
Ummmmmmmmm .... Just plug your 360 controller into your PC and play the same games with 5x better graphics and frame rate.
Fighting and sports games.CatpeeFighting games are beginning to make their arrival on the PC with Street Fighter 4's superior version and others. The PC also has quite a few classic fighting games like MUGEN which has probably one of the biggset communities ever. Not to mention there is always GGPO if you want other fighting action. As far as sports games goes, there are sports games on the PC. They just aren't the biggest liscensed stuff on consoles, but they are generally of the same quality.
