No, not at all.

The only reason I didn't sell my Wii is because of the fond memories that Super Smash Bros Melee caused to linger in my head. Essentially, Nintendo died for me with the Gamecube. The last good Nintendo made games were on that, and 3rd party essentially died out on that generation for Nintendo. Last gen ports and poorly controlling Nintendo staples do not a great system make.

So, no, I'll officially say this now, I'm PS360 for life (more accurately this generation).

Oh yea, I sold my DS to fund my PS3. Best video game related financial transaction I've made in a long time. You can only play so many Pokemon/Brain Training/Final Fantasy remakes for so long.

SemiMaster

Sooooo....since you still have ur Wii then you still show your support. Well played!

Owning doesn't mean STILL supporting. I haven't bought a game for that POS since I prepaid Brawl before E3. So that's the last dime Nintendo is getting from me unless something changes.

Soooo.... I don't support Nintendo.

All I read is that you will still support Nintendo. Your in denial. You prepaid for Brawi which is not even out yet. Ha! :P

HA, I'm only using the Gamecube controllers to play it.

rawking the GC controlers. keeping it real. m'kay! gotta support the originals and still supporting Nintendo....im just messing with you.

I love the Nintendo that made the Wii more than the Nintendo that made the Gamecube, to be honest.

I will always support them. And so should everyone who grew up with them, they gave us kids the best childhooda kid could have. To have grown up with the Nes and Snes is as good as it gets. Besides they have heart as a company, unlike many many others out there.

It has the games that I like, the hardware is reliable, price, best consumer support ever, very fun/friendly/family oriented.

[QUOTE="Panzer_Zwei"]No. Not this gen, at least.darth-pyschosis

I think its obvious what you were going to answer. tell you what I'll give you my answers

I really don't mean to be rude, but why do you hate the Wii so much? Because whenever I see a Nintendo game get hyped on SW and I get I hyped for it I get really disapointed, hell this has been going on way before I joined SW it started during the time of the GC

I haven't seen someone smart actually hate the Wii.

it either "PSTriple is the PWNAGE!" or some crap but not you That Chad thing was a joke to piss Nintendo gamers off(it clearly worked) and its old

Why?

What on earth is so terrible about it?Online Play, the lack of interesting games(in my eyes anyway...you have your opinion I have mine)
Do you fear casuals will take over gaming? Not at all, but they seen to be getting all the attention in Nintendos eyes because they cant compete with the gamer market as shown with the GC and they need a way to make money

that would kinda odd since the PS2 sold 115 million units to casuals. this is true, but its also a diffrent situation. The thing is the PS2 acomidated everyone, whether you were a hardcore gamer, a person who buys madden every year, a racer fan, a shooter fan, a frat boy with nothing to do ,a dad, a mom...see where Im going with this.

hardcores bought the saturn and the dreamcast and look where that got them. That was not the Hardcores fault. That was SEGAS own problem and it was do to poor management. oh and the Saturn sold great in japan.

halo, grand theft auto are some of the most casual titles around with halo 2 selling 8 million copies on the Xbox and San Andreas selling 14 million copies on the PS2 to a specific demographic of young men 14-30 years old. this is true but I covered this above while there are these games Sony realiesed somthing for everyone, last gen Xbox didnt really do the same but it looks like this gen they are at least trying to make EVERYONE happy

did you know at the time of E3 40% of the (at the time 8 million) Wii owners were over the age of 40?

does it lack hardcore games? frankly i am not one to throw around the "hardcore" word coz honestly everyone i've met who branded themselves with it has always been narrow minded. Its hard to describe Harcore especally since its been thrown around alot, but I describe a hardcoregamer as someone you plays games like a hobby instead of something to keep them busy. If I give some good examples of games Id say KOTOR,God of War,Shadow of the Collosus,Okami, I guess MP and Assians Creed(but I cant say much on this one because its not out, but it looks like a gamers game) and BioShock are all hardcore IMO. But I agree with youin saying Hardcoregets thrown around to much(Halo isnt hardcore nor is FF)

i'd think to label one's self anything is silly being as you really can't be it until another person calls you it and do you really want women thinking you're a hardcore gamer? thatsentance makes no sense.so your saying its ok for someone elese to lable you but you cant lable yourself....wtf thats likesaying its ok to callsuch and such emo because he wearsblack eventhough in reality he just likesthe color black, come on man. Oh and my girlfriend loves me because Im a "hardcore gamer" ;)

and i think everyone plays casual games.

yeah

for something to sell well it must be part casual and part good. part good? thats a matter of opinion buddy. though if you want to make a profit you have to make games that apeal to everyone not just the Sony/Ms?Nintendo market

gran turismo is more good than casual but still somewhat casual. what?

halo to me is more casual than good.agian what? (this is all opinion)

GTA is even to me. except for the awful city stories spin offs....sigh...

I want to make some more outside points before I finish.

the reason the Wii is being called a Casual system and cant compare to the PS2 is well because unlike the PS2 it only appeals to the Hardcore I will do anything for Nintendo fans or the casuals. the PS2 was really for everyone in the sense that it had games that made MS/Nintendo fans go ok I need to get a PS2.

Yes. Nintendo isn't afraid to take chances. I'd hope in ten years we're playing FPS games and racing games with controls that completely immerse us, rather than moving two joysticks around. Changes like the Wii are only the planted seed, and there is a long way to grow. But without Nintendo I don't think we'd ever get there.

did you support nintendo when they said online gaming wasnot important?ryokinshin6x3
They didn't say it wasn't important they just said that there fans didn't wanted it because there broadband adapters didn't sell that good and barely anybody used the GCN online service so Nintendo gave up on it till they released another console. I will always support Nintendo (They makemy favorite gameseach gen)but I also support Microsoft and Sony (Not Sony so far this gen just because the console is too expensive)

No, no, no, hell no, no, no, no, no, hellz no.

I'm not a child anymore... I'll pass.

because being overly emphatic and saying thing like "hellz no" is a particularly mature way to act.

My thoughts exatcly.

A true gamer plays all kind of games.
If you base a game on its looks then you have and will miss out on a lot of awesome games.

A true gamer does not waste time on childish mini-games by the way. Personally I am not missing out on anything.

Also, maturity is not reflected in saying the world hellz on the Internet.

I wasn't talking about looks even though it does complement the gameplay. I feel a gamer should be challenged not led, a gamer should have to use his cunning knowledge to get through certain areas, and most importantly a gamer should feel like a bad ass not a princess.

And who are you to say that? like Socrates of video gaming or something? The one who can define precisely what is and what isn't a "true gamer"? I rather be a fake gamer then.

Actually I am 18 years old now that - by law - is considerd an adult. As for insecure, don't make me laugh. As well about the fanboy goggles please tell me what I am being a fanboy of? Systems with high production values? Nay, it's my opinion that the Wii is a terrible gimick. By the way if you're over 18 and you are a big fan of the Wii, grow up.

I am sorry but what? I would say take your own prescriptive advise, since you seem to have some kind of personal issues with a different theme on this particularconsole. What is there something damaging to your mojo or so? I mean generally I understand the fact someone does not like such theme, but with the linelike "By the way if you're over 18 and you are a big fan of the Wii, grow up.", well.. By law,I always considering being "Adult" is just that, age wise.. You form your own maturity. If you are over 18 and play the Wii, you enjoy it, simple, there is not restrictions or status effects.

Yeah, their systems never break on me, and by the time any of their consoles is done with its lifespan there's at least 25 games i had for it and really liked. so they're still golden in my book.

Ah, your only 18. That explains your close minded attitude. When you get a little older, another 7-10 years or so, you will feel very silly for acting the way you are now.

I'm 17, and i still enjoy nintendo games. I played LoZ on the NES today for a good hour. Beat another temple(can you call them temples?) but yeah, i still enjoy those games. I also enjoy watching some old school kid shows that i watched growing up... Does that make me immature, i dont' think so. I'm probably one of the most responsible and mature person my age, i just happen to enjoy having senseless and "slap happy" fun with games, as well as with friends. Saying that if your 18 you have to grow up from nintendo is just plain insecure, that or you've been brainwashed by society telling you what is mature. I'll probably still play these games for a few more years. After college i probably won't play video games nearly as much if at all, as i do plan to spend my time with other activities outside of gaming, but that doens't mean i will mature, as you think it. I will probalby still enjoy these fun games. Maturity has little to do with playing a specific brand of video games.

Wow that was a long, pointless rant....

Summary... shut up

I supported it since the NES and I'm one of the few people that thought that the Gamecube was a great console and deserved better. Right now, I don't know what to think, I hated Nintendo at E3, specially Wii fit that felt like a slap in the face. But they are also trying hard and are releasing great titles like MP3 and SPM for their long time audience. Nintendo is not abandoning their core fans, at least not yet.

I think the Wii is not doing that bad for its first year but Nintendo needs to be more humble and get more and better third party support and create new, epic franchises.
