I dont think I could ever go back. I have to have a fast internet connection and love my gorgeous HDTV. Plenty of others do not care of what they have.
Do you use SDTV and 56k modems?

I have seen 32" hdtv's for $299. They are not that expensive.I have an SDTV, because 1) I'm in college and thus poor, and 2) HDTVs are extremly expensive.

surround sound and that crap is where I think people are really fooling themselves.
IMO. I'm with my SD TV too, but I'll probably upgrade it this fall. Hopefully this 3d crap brings them down more.

then again, if it somehow catches on, I'll be found out of the loop once more....lol.
I have an SDTV, but I hardly watch any TV and I don't use it for gaming, so it doesn't matter to me.
I drive a BMW 320 coupe, i cant even imagine how people dri.......
...wait! This is the thread where we brag about our possessions right?
I've been HD and Online since Dreamcast! :o
Glad people are catching up, it's been a decade, I used to be the minority around here.
I remember being excited when the PS2 released and there were official component cables released for the PS2!
That was a console first people forget about. Great memories.
I do have dinosaur technology though, as I have a TV in my bathroom, and it's SD. It's little though. I can't miss my shows!

I'd upgrade to HDTV if I bought a decent TV. Most the people I know just pick up some $700 LCD and call that quality.

Fooling themselves?
IMO? as in I don't feel it enhances anything to a notable level.
the same would go for uncompressed audio(CD)vs. an mp3. I can't find the difference. and it's not worth paying a price for much of those things.

I'm in college and all I have to say is, "where the hell am I going to find $299?"
I still use an SDTV because imo it still looks and runs better than my bros 40inch+ HDTV for Wii games by a long shot. I'm on broadband though so I'm not a total dino...I dont think I could ever go back. I have to have a fast internet connection and love my gorgeous HDTV. Versus television speakers?

agreed, surround sound is definately worth the money, it's not a must but if you have extra cash it is certainly a good product to invest in.Yeah, I have a SDTV. I don't really see much point in upgrading, I could use the money for much better things.comeonthehoopsfacepalm...really? really? 400 pound tv to buy for another 5 years to last u is not much better things? i will never understand this world
I have an SDTV, but I don't really feel the need to have an HD one. Even though it can be a little frustrating to read some text on PS3 games. I used to use a 27" SDTV, but it broke and now I'm using a really old 8" one. It doesn't even have normal RF or A/V inputs, it has something older called Twin-lead. I'll buy a new TV soon though(probably SD).
I have a satellite connection. Bandwidth is high, though the ping is worse than Dial-up and it bugs out a lot.
I had an HDTV, but it bugged out. So for now I'm using an ancient SDTV. It's not that bad really, except that text in 360 and PS3 games is often impossible to read.
Wow man I haven't seen that in years. I use to have my atari hooked up using those connections. Even the NES has a regular rf switch.I have an SDTV, but I don't really feel the need to have an HD one. Even though it can be a little frustrating to read some text on PS3 games. I just upgraded to HDTV and have a pretty good modem/connection. Still need to get a surround sound system(waiting to see how soon 7.1 gets mass used before making a decision)
