I dont think I could ever go back. I have to have a fast internet connection and love my gorgeous HDTV. Plenty of others do not care of what they have.

Yeah, I have a SDTV. I don't really see much point in upgrading, I could use the money for much better things.

I have an SDTV, because 1) I'm in college and thus poor, and 2) HDTVs are extremly expensive.

surround sound and that crap is where I think people are really fooling themselves.

IMO. I'm with my SD TV too, but I'll probably upgrade it this fall. Hopefully this 3d crap brings them down more.

Used to have 27" SD, not 32" HD@1080p with good response time(about 30ms). Not really a big difference IMO.

EDIT: meant input lag LOL.

Glad people are catching up, it's been a decade, I used to be the minority around here.

I remember being excited when the PS2 released and there were official component cables released for the PS2!

That was a console first people forget about. Great memories.

I'd upgrade to HDTV if I bought a decent TV. Most the people I know just pick up some $700 LCD and call that quality.

SD isn't that old. Regardless, it's what I play on. I think I'm getting a computer monitor I'll use for my games, though, so I can play in HD.

Fooling themselves?

IMO? as in I don't feel it enhances anything to a notable level.

the same would go for uncompressed audio(CD)vs. an mp3. I can't find the difference. and it's not worth paying a price for much of those things.

Nope. In my new apartment my SDTV will be strictly for watching tv in the bedroom, however my HDTV and 5.1 set get the living room with HD satellite.

agreed, surround sound is definately worth the money, it's not a must but if you have extra cash it is certainly a good product to invest in.

All my TV's are SDTV's, because my high grade monitor is far better than any 1080p tv could ever be for less than 1/3rd of the price.

I have an SDTV, but I don't really feel the need to have an HD one. Even though it can be a little frustrating to read some text on PS3 games. I used to use a 27" SDTV, but it broke and now I'm using a really old 8" one. It doesn't even have normal RF or A/V inputs, it has something older called Twin-lead. I'll buy a new TV soon though(probably SD).

I have a satellite connection. Bandwidth is high, though the ping is worse than Dial-up and it bugs out a lot.

I had an HDTV, but it bugged out. So for now I'm using an ancient SDTV. It's not that bad really, except that text in 360 and PS3 games is often impossible to read.

I still use an SDTV, reading small text wasn't that much of a problem until I got Star Ocean 4. It's literally impossible to read some of the small text in that game no matter how hard you try.

I have a 20" EDTV and it works fine. I only have a Wii this gen so the maximum 480p resolution works well enough although I have some older Xbox games that do run in HD.
