Do You Think Killzone 2 will Flop or WANT it to Flop?

All I seem to read here is how much group "A" wants killzone 2 to flop and much group"B" knows it wont flop....

But why?

No game looks remotely fun compared to it in the genre... and Halo 3? As good a game as it could be just looks dull....I'm not trying to start a flame war but seriously...You have to admit it will be odd this gen to watch a Killzone game set the new standard as a Halo game loses its control of the top....and if E3 was any indicator....KZ2 a game shown behind closed doors, the very same night Halo 3 was shown eclipsed it in a matter of 2 hours....:|

At this point I ask myself if people are just saying they want it to flop or if there is some person or persons out there with no experience in video games...:|

I think it will score really well, AAA for sure - and I'm a Lemming.

Depends on what you consider a flop.

I'm looking forward to this game, but I'm not sure if it'll score above 8.5 which I guess some fanboys would call a flop.
It's still too early to say anything about this game since we haven't seen so much of it yet.

Put it this way: It can't do worse than KZ1

I do wish people would stop comparing H3 graphics with KZ2 though, it's stupid. KZ1 had decent graphics and it stunk. Halo has always put gameplay over graphics.

It's really hard to hype KZ2 when KZ1 was not such a good game.

I owned 2 PS2s, a PS1 ... and well the high price tag for the PS3 has kept me from PS3. Everyone says to wait for 2008 and what critics will be saying about KZ2 and so I am.

In the mean time I'm enjoying my XBOX360, Wii and still pick up titles like GoW2 for my PS2.

I think it will score really well, AAA for sure - and I'm a Lemming.

Halo=all aboutGameplay...thats where bungie is putting its emphasis on ...not graphics

Killzone 2= Graphics...we dont know jack about Gameplay ... hell you dont even know what weapons u use ... so u cannot compare them both as of now ......

I think the video looked awesome and I'd like this game to be good, but after the first game I'm not going to get dragged into any hype for this.

I want it to be good, and I have no idea if it will flop or not.

there's more to that killzone demo than just graphics. The universe of killzone looks amazing. All the weird run down shops and apartments all cramped together, with those power lines shooting off in every direction. The mood of the new trailer was awesome. very epic and sinister, with the weather effects, and the crazyingame cinematics.

Going by it's predecessor, it's doesn't look good. Games usually don't great improve over an original in terms of overall experience, if they do at all. nintendofreak_2

Killzone 2WILL flop. Not because i think it will, but because iKNOW it will. Looks utterly generic imo, like it was created by corperate suits with a checklist. Hell it even uses the third person cover view that seems to be all the rage nowadays.

Not that scores matter where hype is involved.......people will buy it regardless along with NfS: Suckers Edition

Whether or not it will flop I don't know, but I do feel that it is currently getting far too much hype. Sure, the trailer had very nice graphics, we got it. What else did it really show? That's right, very little. There are plenty of games worth talking about on the PS3; Uncharted, Little Big Planet, Metal Gear Solid 4, Ratchet and Clank, Heavenly Sword, etc... Why does everyone persist in going on about Killzone?

I used to hype Killzone 2, but now I don't care. I think the game will be really good (as I enjoyed Killzone's gameplay. I hated the story). I want it to succeed, but I'm honestly looking forward to R&C more than killzone 2 (or MGS4 for that matter.)

I think Halo 3 is being hyped way too much though. I bought the first 2 games and they were pretty good, but I can't stand games that get supreme scores for only good gameplay. People act as though Halo is the greatest franchise in the history of gaming. Did it set standards for FPS's? Yes. Was it an amazing game though? No. People assume that Halo 3 is going to be the greatest and it makes me mad that the game might actually sell millions of copies whether it is a quality game or not. I think the game will be pretty good and deserving of an 8.7 or 8.8, but neither should be hyped as they are.

In short I think Killzone 2 will be better than Halo 3, not because of budget or storyline, but ultimately I think that Killzone has more to prove and will have more effort put into its development. Neither should get a score lower than 8.5 from what I've seen and although I don't think Killzone will flop, I don't see it meeting its hype.

The graphics are great, I just hope the framerate is a bit better than in the original. I dont care if the game is innovative as long as its well done. There are plenty of good shooters that the developers can borrow ideas from. 3rd person cover is a great idea, etc, etc.

i truly think that killzone 2 will surpass kz 1 no doubt about that the game looks amazing at this point but to say halo 3 is dull is a little bit of nonsense i mean i always hear people ask why is halo so good u know what if youas a gamer truly can't understand and appreciate halo's greatness and why it revolutionized the genre then u know what u shouldn't be a gamer period.realistgamer
