Does any console game look even half as good as the best looking PC games?

The games look good enough.

Much more important (to me) is having unique experiences like Journey, that are closer to having a religious experience than playing a game.

And RDR was amazing, I feel sorry for anybody who didn't get to play it because of being a graphics snob.

Some of the best games ever are old games that look graphically ugly.

Like Deus Ex, Age of Empires, WoW etc.

Sometimes I think many of these hermits never played any of the truely impressive looking console games of this generation and just blindly believe that consoles are generations behind (graphicslly, i know technically a PC can have conponents that are far beyond what consoles use).

Budget is a bigger factor. A console game with a 50 million budget will look better then that indie produced PC exclusive flash game. And that's the thing developers can push the consoles to the limit without wondering who's got what GPU or what ram. It doesn't matter that the PC can have infinate power because in the real world the enthusiasts that have rigs that "blow consoles out the water" are not buying games in large enough volumes to justify making a PC exclusive. What was the last PC exclusive worth mentiong that wasn't a RTS or MMO? It's a catch 22. PC has all this power but it doesn't matter because no one is making games that exploit said power. And at the end of the day your jacked up rig is getting used to play X360 ports anyway.

Here's the truth, gameplay is more important than graphics, but that, IN NO WAY means that graphics aren't still very important! Example:

A game can be good if it delivers on gameplay alone, and has crap graphics (minecraft for example).

However a game with great graphics and great gamepaly will always be better than a game with just great gameplay. Hence, graphics still add to the experience in a very important way.

Consoles can't match this.

Gears 3, UC3, GOWIII, Forza, etc all look amazing given the hardware. I have a PC and I don't even mess with mods. Too many great games out there for me to go messing around with some 5-10 year old game because some geek hacked in some extra realistic leaf texture. Look at that nudie Skyrim mod. You have to be a super loser to even think about downloading something like that. Let alone brag about it.

Uncharted 3 and Killzone 3 for starters look amazing, they can rival right up there with PC Witcher 2 and even Crysis.

As you can see, minimal differences between them. And in some areas the PS3 games look better, like UC3 has better textures and charecter animations/modles than W2 maxed out on PC.

And in some areas KZ3 looks better than PC Crysis. I just proved it with these videos. Overall PC might take the edge, but the edge isn't very big. Truth is that PS3 can rival PC in graphics.

One of the Crysis 2 vids you posted is from 360! It says in the description and in the video you see messages like "Hold X to ..."! Furthermore, thoseCrysis 2 vids are HEAVILY compressed! The HUD and subtitles are blurred! Another one of the Crysis 2 vids, that one from PC, was uploaded onMar 24, 2011, so before the hi-res texture pack and DX11 patch.

The Witcher 2 vids are also HEAVILY compressed, it's not even funny. It doesn't matter if the videos are 1080p when there are so many compression artifacts.

Really, go and see any of those games in a modern PC and you'll be blown away. Crappy YouTube videos with lots of compression mean nothing. Your precious PS3 games are really far behind. They look very good, no doubt, but just cannot compare.

Edit: By the way, I'd like to see you refute these points, particularly trying to pass 360 vids as PC games maxed out!:lol:
