Does halo 3 look that bad.

The game looks good. There are a lot worse looking games out there, as there are a lot better looking ones as well. Haters downplay its graphics too much, and lovers hype them too much (*cough* Please stop hyping Reach's graphics! It will look great, but not great enough to be graphics king! *cough*). I hope anyone with a thread of intelligence will recognise that the graphics are good.

Halo is cow & sheepopinion proof. No matter what anyone says about it, its still going to sell. I can't figure it out, but it will.

I bet they can announce that there are no guns, the controller is strictly Natal, and the enemies are exactly the same as ten years ago (sorry thats already happened) and people will still flock to buy more Halo.

more like it's proof that fun factor is a lot more important in a console fps than graphics or realism

compare it to gears of war....i came out nearly a year before......and it looks miles ahead...

Halo earned its popularity. People wouldn't support it if Bungie didn't consistently release great products.

Unimpressive. Bland textures, crappy mapping, and so-so character models. Overall, not that great.

Watch Mass Effect 2 gameplay to see good character models, pretty textures, and Miranda's leather suit that has a leather texture look.

The only bad things about Halo 3 Graphically were the jaggies & the Human NPC faces (Which was improved in ODST). The rest looks great (Lighting, textures, etc). It may not be Graphics King, but it's very pleasent on the eyes.

It doesn't not look a lot better than BF BC2.

Halo 3 looked good for it's time and looked good enough, but if you play on a bigger screen, you'll instantly notice that it's filled with a ton of jaggies. Overall the game doesn't look "bad" (unless your comparing it Killzone 2, which makes a lot of console games look "bad".

To be honest I find it more visually appealing than most games due to the fact it has colour.

i say we do a comparison of halo 3 to reach , WHY? well it would show everyone that reach will look very different and better to halo 3

It looks okay in some areas, but isn't "impressive" in anyway. Halo 3 is, in a lot of ways, a good example of the idea of last gen graphics with current gen resolutions. I know that isn't entirely true, but that's what it looks like to me. Nothing really wows me about it, but it looks fine for what it is.

It was never an amazing looking game or 'console graphics king' or whatever; but it's not awful by any means. I'm glad to see they're using a new engine for Reach.

the characters that are on arent good enough,it could have had better carachter modeling,the levels were good enough,guns looked like toys,at some point it seemed baseless

I think it looks pretty good. Lightning, textures, water etc are impressive. Character models, not so much

Nothing wrong with Halo's artstyle and the graphics, while not the best, look fine for a game from 2007.

I just think a lot of people, including me have been turned off by the Halo series or are intimidated by it due to its association with LAN parties making it the archetypal frathouse game.

Maybe I've been spoiled by anti-aliasing in my games but I can spot jaggies from the second I start playing.

Here are some screenshots I took from my file share (And yes, Im aware than the screenshot facility adds AA, but a bad looking game would never be able to produce such good looking shots)

It doesn't look bad at all, and the water effects are pretty sweet.
