Does Killzone 2 Have ANY chance of being GOTY?

It's a great game, but it doesnt have a chance of GOTY, it might be nominated for PS3 GOTY, maybe even FPS GOTY but never will it win or even be nominated for GOTY.Im_single

Will it have a chance? Yes and possibly a better one that Bioshock 2 is not coming out next year, but there are still numerous games that look to be Game of the Year material coming out in a short period of time, so I think it might get lost in the shuffle.

I was thinking warhead for 08. And Empire Total War I give you for just the amount of crap it has on screen, My Laptop was ready to explode trying to run that damn game :P

as for ARMA 2? is it really that good looking? haven't played it I would still say Killzone 2 wins the impressive visuals side of this arguement, in just pure visuals. Empire Total War just has more going on.

I know. Haha. I tried running it on a 6800, and yeah... I was getting below 20FPS. Then again, that game is CPU intensive because of the sheer scale of that game is breathtaking. I mean, last week or so, I tried having an epic battle on my PC -- a very capable gaming machine -- and I had well over 12,000 enemies fighting. I thought my PC was going to die on me. lol Getting below 10FPS? Wowsers. Granted I was playing at 1920x1200 so that causes a lot of strain.

ARMA 2 has a lot of things wrong with it (bugs, difficulty, controls), but in terms of visuals -- and scale, it's pretty damn good looking. I just wish I had a more capable PC, the damn thing has trouble running that game. And I just don't have the cash right now to upgrade the darn thing. :P

I don't have a problem in the world if a site has a "Best Graphics" option and gives it to a console game. I realize that when it comes to that, subjectivity plays a roll in the decision making. Art****gets thrown into the mix -- but when it comes to "TECHNICAL VISUALS". When it HAS TO BE judged objectively... And a PC game which pushes PCs to the limit looses to a console game? What a ****ing joke, man.

I still can't believe that Gamespot thinks MGS4 > Crysis Warhead. *sigh* It's funny, normally Kevin-V jumps in on controversies like that -- but I never saw a single Gamespot staff member defend their reasoning. Not a single one.

I think Uncharted 2 and Bioshock 2 will keep it from getting it...

KZ2, InFamous, RFG, FO3 DLC, Arma 2, E:TW, DOW2, MLB 09 The Show, SF4, RE5, BF1943, BlazBlue, Call of Juarez, Prototype, UFC Undisputed, FNR4, Sims 3, all the PSN, XBLA stuff.

I mean there has been plenty of awesome stuff, in a variety of genres. It might now have that hype and hysteria of the past two years with huge titles that are mainstream stuff but there are some great freakin games.

And we're only halfway done.

Thats what I'm saying if you only owned one console this year no matter what you have your going to have great games to play. Every single platform has had a good if not at least decent year so far (360 I'm looking at you and your lack of exclusives so far) but regardless its been a good year for gaming exclusive and multiplat-wise.

As it is, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is the only 9.5 game released so far this year. I also think Uncharted 2 and Scribblenauts will both outscore Killzone 2. I just don't see it winning games that score higher than it.
