Why do many PS3 only owners always count their chickens before they hatch? The game could be a total flop for all we know! People hyped RE5, Far Cry 2, Lair, Haze, Killzone 1, etc, and look how they all turned out

Im doubting Uncharted 2's graphics will be an overall better than Killzone 2's... And you havnt played the game yet so how can u say the gameplay is the best?
MGSIV managed it and that was an over hyped let down. So it's not impossible if that can get it anything can. Course KZ2s hype has dropped massively what with even sony fans having trouble thinking up good things about it but i'm sure if they cried and yelled loud enough they can influence the "reviewers" on this site once more.

It's the best game I've played that's come out this year by far! So imo it's game of the year right now. I haven't played Infamous. Uncharted 2 and ODST will probably give it a run for it's money.

before the game came out i was in the beta i was so hyped for this game and thought it would be goty no doubt but after playing the full version you realize it really is nothing special. it should win for graphics tho it has sick graphics thats about it. right now i think uncharted2 will be goty but then again i dont want to do what i did with killzone2 so ill wait till i play the full version of uncharted2
Killzone 2 has been very under the radar since release and no one talks about it but nonetheless its a great game and doesn't get the attention it deserves.

reason number 1 i played and own uncharted one its great.
reason number 2 also the game graphicaly looks etter than killzones.
reason number 3 it is a third person adventure game which is mroe likely to get goty than a fps as the last gotys on gamespot where all third person adventure games.

This whole thread is funny. People saying thsi wont even be nominated for GOTY? Lol gotta love the haters. Lets see theres gonna be 10 nominees for game of the year. So far theres only 3 games through 7 months(MORE THANHALF THE YEA) that got good enough scores and can be considered: Killzone 2,InFamous, & Street Fighter. Gowing by the overall critics score, inFamous is grossly overated. People are calling Killzone 2 single player short when it has a strong multiplayer yet theres no comment on infamouses short single player, no multiplayer or co-op, and no replay value? Halo 3 ODST is an expansion. It wont get GOTY, else the world of warcraft's could have easily. Besides the original Halo 3 couldnt get it so how would an expansion pack make the cut? Modern Warfare 2 could be good or bad. The single player is going to be short and meh like the last(except taht awseome level in the past when your captain price), and it will all depends on how they can make the multiplayer better. Its already big so far with alot of perks ect and ALOT of gametypes so im doubting they can add much more. Uncharted thats just lol. The first one didnt deliver but yet everyone is saying this is the GOTY? Lets wait and see instead of jumping to conclusions. The theres Assassins creed. The first one scored high imo and its a guarantee that the second one is a guarantee to do better(I think they know they need to make it less repetitive i hope) so thats an option.

KZ2 will probably get nominated. I fully expect Uncharted 2 to be game of the year. That online beta was amazing and if its anything like Drake's Fortune, it will have a really solid and fun single player.
Kinda this. This game came out too early in the year for that wow factor that a lot of the holiday games will carry in the minds of many gamers through the next year when they remember their years most memorable gaming experiences, KZ2 will probably be a memorable experience but its not fresh enough in their minds to be considered the best. Albeit, I don't think KZ2 would get GOTY even if it did come out during this holiday year, with games like Uncharted 2, AC2, Halo ODST and SC Conviction, but those games aren't a guarantee (although at least Halo and Uncharted and AC all pretty much kinda are) but sometimes a game can let us down. Lets just hope those 4 do not . But I believe it will definitely be up in the running.

The same MGS4 that was hailed as the best game of this generation? You have a different opinion, that doesn't mean you're right. There's a reason it was given 10s and it's not because people bought into hype. These are professional reviewers, not fanboys who sit on forums hyping up games they know nothing about.

Nah call of duty modern warefare 2 will own killzone2. Call of duty 4 is pretty realistic, you can shoot through a car, but you cant shoot through a tank that's realistic, you cant shoot through the engine compartment of the car though because most guns arent powerful enough to shoot through a engine/block maybe really high powered rifle on the havent tested only weaker machineguns game u can and in real life.

i think this game is just amazing, but it probly wont make GOTY, its gonna take a really innovative FPS to get GOTY on the ps3, its on the right track though

I think it will get several mentions and definitely a nomination, but I don't see it winning.
As far as Uncharted 2 goes, it looks like a strong contender before even being released. Splinter Cell: Conviction looks like a good one too, but not so sure why so many people would think it has such a strong chance at GOTY if it comes out in '09. At E3 Uncharted 2 pretty much overshadowed everything else.
I hope uncharted 2 wins only because it would match how hyped i am for it. i would give infamous a dark horse chance also. With all the delays it looks like goty will go to any of these unless something unexpected happends. Street fighter 4, killzone 2, infamous, uncharted 2, modern warfare 2, splinter cell conviction, assasins creed 2. i dont think im missing much else
It's an awesome game but it won't win. Nothing this year has come to overthrow it but I guarentee Uncharted 2 (and if not that then MW2) will overthrow the games chances. It scored a 9 here and I have a feeling both Uncharted 2 and MW2 will score 9.5 or higher.
