The gender type don't really matter to me since they don't have any implication on how good or great a game is in my opinion so it really doesn't matter much to me. A good example of this is the Resident Evil series for me, I still enjoyed every single one in this series even though I have to use a female lead in some of them.

It doesn't matter to me I know some people it bothers them but I do usually choose a female character or if you can choose to play as a Male or Female I would play once as a male then play again as a female.

Yes, atleast in some regards. I cannot stand a stoic female character. What was that ancient expression? You can make an epicurean out of a stoic but you can't make a stoic out of an epicurean. I really enjoy emotional female leads or believable female leads like the main character in The Longest Journey or the heroine of Silent Hill 3. But I really can't stand female characters like Lightening.

Maybe a little. When the protagonist is a female, I really can't complain. I'd take any female over the "strong ultra-cool hunk" protagonist any day. Some examples: Samus is 100000 times more awesome than Master Chief. I can think of many females that are way cooler than Marcus Phoenix. I'm not against male protagonists, but developers often try too hard to make him as "cool" as possible, which only makes him cheesy instead.

Always have a hard time understanding why people who aren't 10 years old can think Master Chief and Marcus Phoenix are cool..
