The Xbox went backwards from 360 to 1.gago-gago:lol:

[QUOTE="Bigboi500"]No "perhaps" about it, you know the games are comming. Why would you wear a Link avatar if you didn't have faith in Nintendo? It's their first HD console. Am a little unsure how that'll affect their time, quantity and quality. It'll prob be worth getting sooner or later but I think it's very premature to be slotting it in next to PS4 is all :)I understand that the PS4 has had a ton of positive hype, but nothing concrete has been released about the system as of yet. PS4 might also put up a pay wall for used games and online multiplayer and be in the same situation as X1 is now, for all we know.[QUOTE="locopatho"] Perhaps eventually :)locopatho
I can't really dispute his numbers because I don't have any of my own but damn that's a pretty shitty attitude to have.
RIP Xbox
Well you're in for a real treat. i assume so, half the reason i got it was interest in the game (generated by 999 of all games lol), the other half was peer pressure from just about every person that played the game :P[QUOTE="BrunoBRS"]my copy of persona 4 (PS2) arrived literally 3 hours ago. so that's one game that i'd have never played if my PS3 model wasn't old enough to have backwards compatibility.Bigboi500

Haha Xbone. Brilliant. Well as some have said, at least MS are giving us a hell of a lot of entertainment :D
These console makers need to stop changing the architecture in their consoles every generation. seriously, backwards compatibility is now more important than ever before with the introduction of digital distribution.
Â
I know people like to argue and say "keep your old console", I don't want my games only tied to the original console. Want to know why? Because the original console will eventually break. To me, not including BC makes console games disposable because those games will basically only last as long as the original console itself lasts. Sorry, but if consoles continue not being backwards compatible then console gaming deserves to die...
[QUOTE="bbkkristian"]Thank you Nintendo for BC, it's a shame that your Wii U doesn't have any games atm to reason a purchase. zeroyaoiIt's not as bad as some are making it out to be. It's got a lot of games coming out soon too. Oh I know :) But I have so many games I need to save up for this year. Buying any of theses consoles are not on my priority list. But seriously, Nintendo proves they are the most consumer friendly in the market.

This is annoying.

In previous gens not a big deal because i didnt have a huge backlog, or a bunch of xbox live arcade games. But going into this next gen, all this is gonna do is prevent me from buying a next gen console until i finish the games i already have.

going by what MS has shown us in 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012, i wouldn't hold my breath.Freaking morons... I'm glad I have washed my hands of these asses since 2011.
Talked about BC and that they would have in the next Xbox because they own the right to the chips... Said they would add forwards compat.
All damn lies.
You know Sony might not have BC on PS4... But at-least they never lied about putting it in.
Penny pinching asses. I can't wait to see Xbox One crash and burn.
[QUOTE="RR360DD"]The Xbox mini rumour working with the new Xbox to offer BC may come true. Theres exciting Xbox 360 news around the corner apparently :PzeroyaoiGreat! pay over $100 to get access to all your previous games. Nintendo is the only one thinking straight. You'd have to pay more to have x1 play 360 games natively anyway.... Having the people who want that feature paying extra is preferable to forcing everyone to. Or they could be a slave to old architecture that directly affects new games like Nintendo did with wii and wii-u....

going by what MS has shown us in 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012, i wouldn't hold my breath. Well they do have 15 exclusives in the first year. That sounds at least interesting. They set up some studios in the past years that haven't made anything yet (no not even Kinect games). So E3 could have some surprises.MS is deserving of this punchbag treatment for the lack of communication and some seemingly foolish mistakes. Things aren't looking good at the moment, but I'm sure things will look a lot better once more of these 15 1st year exclusives are shown off. I wont support console that has used games fees though.MS reeeaally not doing well are they?

Pure class.
I'm happy not caring at all about the X1. It's like I'm boycotting MS, but without giving up anything I actually want.

I don't think many people will support it. They're gonna have to be pretty damn amazing exclusives to win over anyone who's not a die hard fanboy of the Xbox
He's just telling the truth. I doubt there's MS engineers in here, it's probably too much work and not worth it. The 360 did have BC and I don't know anyone who uses it. LustForSoulAt launch plenty of people did. It just that the first xbox did not have that many games for it. When the ps2 came out it had bc and that lasted because of the library the ps1 had. The 360 has the same quality library as the ps1 in comparison. BC is a tool of transition. It get people to want to get a new system with out compromising. Why get a system that does not have much to play? You play your old games on it while the new games come out later on.

The 360 had very limited and horribly flawed BC. That's probably why no one used it except when there was no other choice.
It's fine if BC is impracticable, and I don't doubt that it is, but for MS to act like it's unreasonable to even expect BC is shitty.
[QUOTE="Giancar"]Not being BC is not a huge deal. But the way Mattrick answered was plain lulz worthy. Now please someone help me with this one. Is it really the One architecture so different from the 360 that they couldn't make it BC? Like the PS4? Or they just said: **** it, don't want it so #dealwithit?dreman999They are money grubbers...What do you think?
#dealwithit would be the right answer

If it costs any resources at all (which it obviously does, as even a "similar" architecture is still a different architecture), they have to weigh the benefits against that. We have no reason to infer that BC could have made sense from a business perspective.

I actually prefer 360's emulated BC over native bc found in the wii-u. Xbox games operated at a higher resolution(720p) and had AA applied to them on 360. Wii games on wii-u run at 480p and even though it's native it still messes up surround sound for many games. Wii games look like crap on HD sets and because of that dolphin(pc) will remain my go to platform, when I want to revisit wii games. Please Log In to post.
