Well yea of course it will, Sony already lost plenty of money from making the 20GB and 60GB and retailing it at such a lower price than the cost to produce it, hoping they could recover from softwares sold. So they might as well discontinue the 60GB and only keep 80GB.

Am I the only sony fan jumping ship after their latest disaster? I backed Sony since day 1 and wanted them to win this gen, but they seemed clueless to their problems...and now they cut the price by 100 bucks on the 60 gig system and I was happy..then they say it's because they are phasing it out and we will be back at 600? I really can't deal with this anymore, it's one stupid mistake after another! 1 lie and bait and switch, and I am sure more are coming. I am jumping ship, I am no MS fan, but I will back the 360 and go for that and watch Sony sink faster than the titanic!

TC, I'm in the same position as you. I loved the Playstation 1 and Playstation 2 very much. I played no other console for 10 years. When I heard the PS3 was going to be $600 and slowly realized that the games weren't even better than the 360's, I was crushed. I stuck it out for Sony from last E3 (when they were getting bashed all the way to hell) up until now. After one year of consistent broken promises, PR messups, bizarre business strategies, and lost exclusives, I'm simply fed up and tired. The temporary price drop was the last straw.

I refuse to pay MORE for a system that does less for its main function, gaming. If I can pay less and get exclusive content for GTAIV, better fps for Madden, better online, more games, why shouldn't I go for it? I'm no Microsoft fan (I actually despise Microsoft) but I'm not going to miss out on a great gaming experience simply because I dislike a company and like a company that is failing at this point. So if Sony turns its fate around in 08, maybe I'll buy a PS3. But as of right now, I'm getting a 360 as soon as the price drops.

No, you need to grow up and Read what I wrote and try to comprehend it correctly. I was venting my frustration when he (4_Horseman) said, "LOW INCOME FANS SUCH AS YOURSELF" referring to the TC. I just didn't think that it was appropriate of him to judge another person like that without knowing him personally and as what his financial situation might be.

of course people like the TC are gonna feel the way they do. If i had a taste for the kind of 360 games i'm seeing i'd have probably jumped ship as well. But i don't. It's risky supporting the ps3 when sony keep fumbling around, confusing the hell out of us.

that fact that mgs4 is exclusive is a real megaton, and all the sony first party exclsuives on their way. This is what i'd want the TC to think about. Sony easilybeat the competition in terms of first party development. Games like heavenly sword, uncharted, ratchet, warhawk,aren't going anywhere; then there's the games missing in action, getaway, eight days. In addition these developers along with Team ICo(their game probably08)will probably work on games that'll come out 09.

i wouldnt "give up" on sony. If u want a 360 buy one, but i could seriously not miss out on the hugeps3 line-up.I don't care if some of these games are out in 08. i don't completely occupy my life with gaming. I don'thave a 360or ps3 right now and i don't feel a relentless impulse to go and shell out £425 or even £199.

Really at this point giving up on the PS3 is completely idiotic. Look at all the great games and features coming to it!

High price? If I'm not wrong, it has been dropped to 499? and there has been a rumour of the 40gb out for 399 in the works.

Sadly anyone who prefers a XBOX 360 over a PS3 MUST have to be a "Fakeboy". Strange thing, that all people i know, that own both consoles clearly prefer the XBOX, because the PS3 is simply underdelivering. (That will hopefully change soon)

Did you miss me attack MS over that hardware issue? And yes it has gotten better, but no enough. The 360 still scratches disks. But atleast MS is trying to permanently fix this, This temp cut only helps those out there now..By the time I was going to get one it would have been 600 again...And I won't and can't pay that. And you should pay attention to the lies, bad marketing strategies, cancelled games....need I go on?

Yes I know its hard not to get upset sometimes when you see something thats ignorant,ignoring or not seeing the good points but were all respectable people here with our opinions even if your'e upset by the TC's replies we still should be polite in a manner fitting in order for him to not get upset or angry back and in time he will see that the PS3 is a good console in its own right.

TC, why are you so adamantly against Sony, over such a thing as a temporary price drop, yet you are perfectly fine with MS's faulty 360 hardware? A price drop, despite being temporary, is still a price drop. How can a console costing less than it did originally be considered bad in any way? And how is it worse then the extremely faulty hardware of the other console on the market?

Did you miss me attack MS over that hardware issue? And yes it has gotten better, but no enough. The 360 still scratches disks. But atleast MS is trying to permanently fix this, This temp cut only helps those out there now..By the time I was going to get one it would have been 600 again...And I won't and can't pay that. And you should pay attention to the lies, bad marketing strategies, cancelled games....need I go on?

And yet, in the end, both the 360 and PS3 will have similar high quality lineups for the next year, yet the 360 will be plagued with hardware problems, and the ps3 will cost $200 extra. Your hatred for Sony but acceptance of MS makes absolutely no sense if you look strictly at the consoles.

The lies, etc., have nothing to do withmy experiences with the console. I'm here to play games, man. If you can't get past the random PR crap Sony has pulled, thenI fear for you. Enjoy life, man. Don't get cought up in the words of Execs of corporations across the globe.

This e3 was the best for Sony. They are releasing a bunch of awesome games this year for the PS3. So I don't understand how peeps like me are considered dumb***es in your opinion.

I wanted to voice my opinion on this Sony PS3 System:

I thought the PS3 was for playing games? Well yea it is correct, but WHAT the hell do I need the Blu-Ray (besides the 50GB for gaming space) and the internet browser for?

I mean I understand that the Blu-Ray is the next HD **** for movies but this is supposed to be a gaming console, the majority don't even own a HDTV so it wouldn't help them much at all, there is still a debate going on between HD-DVD and Blu-Ray as far the the main HD experience provider, so other than the amount a Blu-Ray can hold, it seems pointless for people who really want the system for games.

In order to play PS3 online, I believe you would need Cable/DSL connection right such as the 360 requires? So if most users of the PS3 have a high speed connection, then most likely they have a computer and/or a laptop, so why the hell do I need a PS3 with internet browser when I can use a fast high speed connection on a laptop or a PC which has much more functions for THE BROWSER.

I just don't like where Sony is heading, they are running away from the gaming consumer and towards the tech freak whos wants all in one which there aren't many of!
