If DKCR gets 8.5 here, it won't be because of high difficulty. Look at Demon's Souls. GOTY and was brutally challenging.

true, but sometimes reviewers logic is just plain awful lol. I can see them saying that its too hard given its audience on the Wii or some crap :P. And please dont even get me started on Demons Souls getting GOTY over Uncharted 2 and more. I am happy I was able to make some decent cash back when I sold DS to Gamestop lol.

The embargo on Nintendo games gets lifted friday if it's released sunday.

The inflation of 8.5's on GS and 9's on IGN just proves that the rating system is flawed and why we used 100 point scale in the first place.

Another note is that the metascores are going to be lower now vs before even if the games are equivalent, since we have more of these 5 star rating systems aswell where 4/5 = 80% is translated to 8.5-9.0 in reality.

The only thing I really get by looking at the recent scores for the Nintendo games is that 8.5 on GS and 9.0 on IGN are other words for saying; It's not Mario Galaxy, but it's a great game.

It's fine and all, not the end of the world, but we are taking babysteps toward the lazyness direction and I don't like it.

Haha yeah I dont know what review system I like best. In some ways I like IGN's in some ways I like GS's. I dont think I would go on a 1-5 scale (stars) with no half stars, as that limits the amount of review scores too much. It is definitely hard to pick a good one.

Yeah and honestly from what I have read and seen, they should give this a 9 when you compare it to Other M and Goldeneye's flaws. To me this game looks and sounds far more polished than those too. I owned both of them (sold goldeneye though). Both good games (Other M is better), but far from perfect.

Wii games are, for whatever reason, incapable of getting more than 8.5 here unless Mario has something to do with the game.

So my hype is 8.5.

how exactly does it look like the super mario sunshine of mario games? Sunshine was a huge spin off in terms of gameplay when compared to any other mario, this is a complete throw back to DKC games on the SNES. I would say if anything it is like Galaxy as it is new and has some new stuff, but harkens back to the style of what made the series great.

Super Mario Sunshine was my favorite 3D Mario game despite it having less levels and worlds than other Mario games. Everything else about the game made up for that in my opinion.

I'm so glad that I picked up a 25th edition Wii for the kids this christmas, I'm also going to pick up DKCR as a present to myself... Oh and the 25th anniversary Mario game coming out next month.
