DOW2 hype, where is it ?? 56k

This will be the gretest RTS/"RTT i really dont care what you prefer" game. I dunno about you guys but i have alot of hype for this game. Company of heroes was the best rts when it came out, and it looks like relics gonna do it with dow2.

Absolutely not.

DoW2 is the biggest let-down since Devil May Cry 2. The game is so shallow and boring to play. The graphics are okay, but that's about it.

dow2 is not very good, and a step down from COH.

It's free now though, so that's alright. I don't mind GFWL being used in games, as most of my friends own 360s so I can communicate easily with them in game using it, but it is absolutely abysmal when it comes to actual online play.kieranb2000

I wanted to hate GfWL, but after it worked the whole beta without a single problem and found games quite fast, while steam crashed every now and then for no reaosn at all, i just don't know what to think... certanly a step up from lamespy and relic online

i dont know... i enjoyed AOE:2 and 3, those are nice RTS, but the demo of DOW2....12345yon

just by listing AoE2 and aoe3 I could tell you when dow2 was annouced that you won't like it...

I'll probably pick the game up a couple months down the road. Wasn't too impressed with the beta to warrant a purchase from me.

There is a different type of depth in the combat for this DOW, its much more tactical and a lot harder to be good at. jwsoul

Oh, and yes, DoW2 is a shallow, shallow game. Biggest disappointment ever.

I hate how the need to flank and out move suppression units has largely been replaced by nearly uncounterable special abilities.

Game is fun, but considering the hype that it was 'the' rts for 2009 it does feel a bit underwhelming. Heroes are fun, however other things feel like a step back from CoH.Nikalai_88

Yes, people are bitter because they expected a deeper game than what they got. I mean, what did they expect? A game where you can branch out with a branching and deep tech tree while having support buildings/structures coming into play? How about a game where half of the units in each faction weren't a complete money sink and waste? Silly them.

Pity, too. The game IS fun, but its so limited that it quickly becomes boring.

You are right though, DoW2 is many levels higher than HW. If you think otherwise you really need an eye test.

To all the other moaning hermits here, its people like you that are keeping PC gameing in the stoneage, I for one applaud Relic for trying something different rather than making DoW with better graphics.

I still think relic deserve more respect. Many love the new DoW. Especially fans of the WH40k tabletop game. From what i read this is part of Relic's strategy with DoW2, to get closer to WH40k battles in the TB game. Maybe GW even had a hand in the design of DoW2.

More Devs need to give old and tired PC genres a kick up the backside imo.

honestly, if this game was on consoles it would be hyped to the heavens. Just look at HW.

Fact is the PC community is so fussy and picky and hard to please its no wonder devs go console. Just look at the hassle blizz is getting with Diablo. Its stupid.
