Downgrade? Upgrade! Look very closely!

It looks awesome, one of the finest looking games for the year. Not to mention the best fps game on any console. themyth01

That is a matter of opinion. I personally do not like Halo. I actually like Resistance much better than Halo. UT owns all, but that is just my opinion.

No, i wouldnt. Im not a fanboy. I own a 360. Im currently playing forza2. What do think im not looking foreward to this game. Hey i live in reality and reality is that this pic that we see of MC does not look as good as the trailer we saw last year. That is fact. Im not blind. I point out what it blatanly obvious. No, the Betas sole purpose in existence was to get player feedback on the gameplay elements and balancing, they admittedly turned off most of the graphical effects, they even said they were going to do that 6 months before the Beta even released.

Okay, I can buy that they were mostly shaking down the net code in the beta. Still, I find it a bit dubious that they would be having the beta testers playing on some old build "just because". Granted, the graphics for MP and SP are going to be different, so it's a moot point from that perspective. However, that 7/05 screenshot, as a single image, does not look as good as shots that we were seeing from last year.

They probably cut down what the renderer was doing in order to improve overall performance. That's not uncommon. And personally, I think it's not a bad move to start putting out screenshots of the game that don't include that degree of bump mapping if it may not be what you see in the actual release. Better now than when you pop your copy in to play.

And I also agree that, potentially, they may add some of the graphical features absent in this most recent shot back in, if they manage to further optimize the code, though I think such thinking is wishful.

I got very far on version 1.0 - then the game kept crashing on me at a certain point.

Ive only recently bothered to start a new game on the 1.3 patch, and ive only just reached the bar (and done all the previous side missions).

Still, its the best Singleplayer FPS/RPG ive played since Deus Ex. I like it a helluva lot more than Vampire bloodlines :P

I'll wait till the game is released to decide if it has really been "downgraded" or not. But it is obvious that that picture is not as good looking (at least IMO) as the E3 trailer.

Think about this...

Ok, look where the MC's staring, opposite of the light. But he's clearly facing it a little enough to have his armor hitting it a little bit. The visor is not getting a really good reflection because he's nmot facing the light! Understand? Ok. Now look at his armor and why it's not crisped or scratched yet, he has new Mark Vi armor! If you look very closely, you can see changes to the armor than from the second Halo game. Now instead of just staring at the mC, look at his gun amd the background, they're really good looking. Just remember the lighty doesn't look the same everywhere you know.

Now please stop bashing on it for stupid reasons because you didn't tink of it all the way through.

I havent had much time to do a lot of online gaming lately. I think the last game i played online was either GRAW or COD2. God i owned so many little kids in COD2. They thought i was hacking. Same goes with GRAW. I remember this day so vividly because i was just messing around and got so many kills and talked so much crap. I was 23 kills with 8 deaths. Man was this kid crying. He called me all these names and said i was cheating somehow. Im just really good as shooters.

I wanted to see what time it was. So i pressed my guide button. My friends stuff came up on my screen. All of his profile. Me and my friend were still in talk. SO i told him what i saw and he couldnt believe it. All of a sudden my system froze. Then igot red rings of death.

Well about all that Halo 3 and all, and its fine visual quality... Mnyesss, quite the nice looking 360 game mmnyesss, but the downgrade none of the less mnyessss :P
