I definately wouldn't support it right away. Sega has too much history with consoles that die off early. The Sega Genesis is the only thing they have ever made that lasted as long as the competition.

I don't trust Sega Consoles. If a new one was released I might buy it later as in much later but I'd never buy it 1st or 2nd year. Well unless it got some serious Exclusive Fighting goodness.

[QUOTE="meetroid8"]They could only fit in if someone else dropped out. And because of Microsoft 's and Sony's amazing financial backings they won't so that leaves Nintendo but because of recent success thats highly unlikely.BambooBanger

What with Microsoft pumping more money into their next operating system Windows 7 and their other computer programs and the amount of lawsuits they are fighting off with regards Vista and XP, I could see Microsoft dropping out of the console market and supplying an os for a new console (like they did for the orignal dreamcast. Remember Windows CE powered many of the games for the original DC). Microsoft are also concentrating more and more on the os market, what with Linux eating away at its share of the market and since Intel processors are now used in Macs they are now competeing against Apple aswell. If someone does pull out of the console market it will be Microsoft more than either Sony or Nintendo.

I still play MSR (Metropolis Street Racer) on the dreamcast (Project Gotham Racer was based on it) and would love to see Sega release a new console and it is possible considering that they have the funds from the third-party devs they currently have, plus the money from the arcade machine market. But before we get our hopes up Sega would have to develop,or buy, an OS for any new console before they return to the console market

LOL, it would take alot more than that for Microsoft to become financially insecure.

Am not saying microsoft wouldn't be able to support console manufacturing finanically, but what with Bill Gates retiring next yr and a new CEO coming in, what are we gonna see from Microsoft in the yrs to come. This could be their last console if the new CEO decides that he wants to concentrate on Windows and other software only. Also remember that Microsoft have already sold of some game developers that they had bought. ie. makers of Halo. Microsoft may stay in the console market but if anyone does leave an opening for Sega to re-enter I believe that Microsoft will be that company.

Iv been waiting for a new SEGA System for a while but its probobly to late now, if they come back it will most likely be for the Next-Gen consoles (PS4, Xbox 3) but if Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo have all this techology In there systems in 07 imagine in the future what they will have, the only way SEGA can make a really good comeback is if they Come out with a whole bunch of Awsome Exclusives

I'd like to see Sega put Dreamcast titles for download, on VC (if possible) or XBLA. Or they could do a compliation disc... that would be pretty cool.

The odds of a new system butting into the console wars and being even noticed seems very slim, unless they're strapped with juicy exclusives
