Why do people look back at the DC and despise it? Probably they really loved Sega or it was their first console. I like my DC, you hate it, people have different opinions on everything.

Nostalga is the key word.Thats all it is. I owned one and it was good when it was the only system I had but the PS2 easily lapped it in quality games fast and now the only time it gets used is at my Mom's house when myreckless hypercousins come to visit.

I won't dispute that there weren't enough good games, but the system was not exactly "weak". It's library was "weak", but not the system itself. Besides, Ecco, Draconus, SF3, Phantasy Star, Marvel vs. Capcom, Soul Calibur, Sonic Adventure, DoA 1 & 2...there were plenty of good games, just not nearly as many on other systems. That's why it failed, right?

All of that on your list is strictly your opinion. Back when the ps1, and n64 were the only competition the DC had the most eye popping graphics ever to grace a console.

Shenmue is still to this day one of the best games I've ever played. The DC was an amazing system. Shenmue was the first free roam game, it opened so many doors in the free roam genre.

SoulCalibur 1. Way beyond its time. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 well before the ps2 version and its better on dreamcast. Marvel vs. Capcom. NFL 2K and NBA 2K

Crappy things? Why don't you try looking at the Dreamcast's lineup of games in those short two years and see if it looks crappy.

TC you just have bad taste in games or you just BSing and haven't played any DC game... DC games where great back then, DC didn't deserve to do so poorly in sales.

the only thing that competed was PS1/N64... lol.... of cousre games would get higher ratings, just like 360 on release was compaired to PS2, thats why PDZ got 9.0

Its because of how the Dreamcast was so far ahead of its time it had great visuals, a variety of some of the best games and online directly in the system so yeah there was a lot to be impressed by

Because for certain genres and even overall it was a really awesome system. Online play years before the others, internet browser, PC port shooters with kb/m support, tons of fighters. Really it deserved to win last gen but had no chance with Sega's tarnished name and launcing in PS1 and N64's prime. Really it was kinda like the 360 is today.... except actually good.

If Dreamcast was so great it wouldn't have been killed off so early.

The Dreamcast was essentially killed off by Sony's PS2 but now that everyone hate Sony and the PS3 they wan't to show love to the Dreamcast. People..

The Dreamcast was an amazing system with limitless potential. But, it was also the victim of poor marketing.

And that poor marketing is what killed that great system.

I'll give the Saturn credit for being the first with a cd-rom drive in a compact console though,The racing game was i think one of the best for its time on that thing.

Dude, liking Big Rigs is a really obvious joke.

Anyway, to answer the question, I really liked the Dreamcast for its games. Soul Calibur, Skies of Arcadia, F355 Challenge: Passione Rossa, Sonic Adventure (you didn't like it, but I did), NFL 2k (One of the first sport sims I played and actually liked), Samba De Amigo, Segagaga, and others.

Cuz Dreamcast launched with Soul Caliber, Power Stone, NFL2K, and Sonic Adventure (good at the time).

On top of that, games like RE CV, Power Stone 2, Phantasy Star Online, Crazy Taxi, Grandia 2, Skies of Arcadia, Sega GT, Jet Grind Radio, Half Life, Quake 3, made it great.

plus it was easy to bootleg games for. Great system

Although the DC does get way overpraised, it is still and will always be at least more of a system than the Wii for example.

Finally, somebody who agrees with me!! I could never figure out why people loved this console so much. It couldn't have been the games, there were what, 3, maybe 4 good ones?
