Santa Clara, Calif., (April 16, 2008) - Leading video game publisher and developer, NAMCO BANDAI Games, announced today their summer lineup of titles for Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system's PLAYSTATION® Network. PowerUp Forever, a space arcade shooter with literally no bounds will be coming to Xbox LIVE and the PLAYSTATION Network, and Soulcalibur® - the highest rated fighting game of all time, will be available on Xbox LIVE. The titles reinforce NAMCO BANDAI Games' commitment to being a market leader and innovator in interactive entertainment.

i never played the original, but i loved SC 2, gona give this one a shot

Soul Caliber was great (I have it on my DC), but imo, the best console fighting game ever was Tekken 3, and all ps3's can play it, although it's not on PSN yet. (if you want to quibble over scores, know GS gave it a 9.9, and it's only .2 points lower on metacritic)

edit: actually, strike that, the best console fighting game was Tobal No. 2 (imo). I'm guessing no one here has played it, since it was released in JP only, but it's amazing.

Something tells me Namco will release a patch, as they did with Tekken 5 DR. But not until after they have milked the sales of SCIV, an online enabled SCI could potentially hurt sales of the new game.

All ps3's can play ps1 games, the 40gb just can't play ps2 games.

The 40gig has BC, just for PS1 games, which is around 1000 games. So the 40gig still has more backwards compatibility then the 360 and Wii combined.

the game was a classic on the dreamcast to alot of people and i loved it and will def be getting it on XBLA,im also looking forward to getting soul calibur 4 on ps3 vader FTW :D plus i prefer the pad for fighting games he he
