Thats easy. As a big fan of the game, part one was better than 2 & 3, so it may be better than 4.

(but since I have the Dreamcast with this game hooked up via VGA to a computer monitor, I won't buy it again without online play.)

Oh noes... a seven year old game! What will I do without it! There's only been, what?, 2 more games in the series since then..................

I think all the doubters need to reminded that this was the perfect game for it's time and got a 10 AAAAE on GS. Now I hype it AA by todays standards.

Okay, it was top notch at the time, but fighting games have advanced since then. The series has advanced since then. I'm not going to get a game that is not up to par with current ones in the genre purely because I enjoyed playing it back in the day. I made that mistake when I downloaded Mortal Kombat 2 (5 moves per character?............ it seemed so awesome when I used to play it).

Because these versions are far superior. I have Rez for Dreamcast and Ikaruga for Gamecube. I bought them on XBLA anyway because I'd rather play them in gorgeous HD, and they also have a lot more features.

Sorry but XBLA is miles ahead of VC. There are games on there as good as VCs best, and more of them too not forgetting enhancements. And almost all VC games i can get on PC, the ones that are hand-picked for XBLA are upgraded so much that that is the place to play them

You said AAAAE, then mentioned 2 games, 1 of which was good, but the sequals are one, the other isn't even a DC game...

Where is Frame Gride, Skies Of Arcadia, UFC, etc if it's all of DC's AAAAE?

This is great news, I thing Soulcalibur for dreamcast is easily one of the best games ever.

This is great news for anyone who hadn't played this game yet, even though there is no online play for this, the other mode would still work fine. Right now I am hoping that the game is 400 points instead of 800 because of the exclusion of online play.

Ya, I was hoping the DC line up would be picked up for DL.

I am sure it will upscale to 720 and have a WS set up that at least looks nice. Bars on either side of my screen annoy me.

Yes, at launch. And 480i was fine back then but now days it makes my eyes bleed. Like all other XBLA game I am sure it will upscale to 720p. I find that a much better way to play.

Although without online play it is not a must buy for me. I can not understand why there is none. I play MK2 and Street Fighter online. If they do add online for it I will be there though.

Chrono Cross is out on PSN? Or is it still to come? I was browsing the games last night and did not see it. I would pick that up from PSN rather then trying to find a copy.

Why are you blabbering on about THPS & Chrono cross when im talking about the fighter genre :? Have fun with backward compatibility on SOME ps3 Im going to enjoy my next generation games. I Can see why you cow's love the backwards compatibility so much now its becayse you guys arent buying any new games for your ps2 so you rely on on back catalogue of old ps1 & 2 games :lol:

On an HDTV? Not so much.

I'll be buying this. I never planned on buying SC4 anyways, but I remember being in love with this game. I wish there was online play though. But that would probably crush SC4 sales.

Still waiting for MS to flex their muscle for the good of gaming and pay for Marvel vs Capcom 2 with online play. I probably wouldn't buy another game for months. I still have fond memories of pwnage with Strider, Psylocke and Captain Commando.

Soul Caliber was great (I have it on my DC), but imo, the best console fighting game ever was Tekken 3, and all ps3's can play it, although it's not on PSN yet. (if you want to quibble over scores, know GS gave it a 9.9, and it's only .2 points lower on metacritic)

edit: actually, strike that, the best console fighting game was Tobal No. 2 (imo). I'm guessing no one here has played it, since it was released in JP only, but it's amazing.

I do, i own a 360 but never owned a DC and im pretty sure that ill like the original SC more than the new one, graphics dont really affect fighting games and i can just play with my freinds when they come over. Anyway, just the fact 360 is getting a remake of a AAAA game is something that lemmings will be able to use in arguments alot.
