Closer than you might think, but DS is the better choice. DS has the edge by far for future lineup as well. But it kind of depends on what types of games you like and if you'll take advantage of PSP's multimedia capabilities.

If you're the person tahts wants a system taht can do everything and play games on the side: get a psp

If you're the person that wants something cheap that plays only games that are really good and is meant only for playing games, get a DS.

First of all, how old are YOU? Trying to make fun of people on the internet for playing games without violence. Second fo all, I am seventeen and i play all kinds of games and love them for the gameplay, not for the graphics, violence, or whatever it is that turns messed up people like yourself on. Granted I like a good shooter, but its not all I play. If you think PhoenixWright is bad then you simply don't have the brain power ot make it through the game. If you thinkAnimal Crossing si bad then you need to grow up, cutey kiddy game or not, its still fun and highly addictive and amny agree, inlcuding Gamespot. Oh and if you hate Zelda, well then you have sustained irreparable damage durign your childhood.

whether people admit it or not, the only reason why DS is outselling the PSp is because its cheap. You guys are always coming up with some graphics doesnt matter excuse and iam getting sick of it.

When you play a ds game the graphics looks like someone threw up on the screen. the ds doesnt have quality, it has quantity. I forced myself to play a DS once, and i was playing some childish game called chicken little, the graphics were horrible and i kept onseeing the same thingsover and over again.

only reason you people say the Ds games are better is because you bought it cheap, and if something is cheap then you really cant complain about it, since you already know what to expect.

I own both. More to the point, I own both a phat and slim PSP as well as a DS. PSP slim has solved a lot of problems I had with the original, but let's be frank here. The wait for games was ridiculous, the load times were ridiculous, the battery life was ridiculous. And that's garnered a bad reputation for the system on a whole, despite this being a thing of the past.

You cite as your evidence that DS sucks the fact you were playing "Chicken Little". You were playing a crappy movie to handheld game, and this is somehow proof of your contention? Come on, squire! Pull your head out! Maybe Chicken Little was a childish game because it's based off a children's movie? I'm just guessing here.

They've both got merits, PSP and DS. Why don't you force yourself to play a DS with a GOOD game in there next time? Then come back with an informed opinion, scooter.

And the next time you see little Kids playing GTA on the PSP, try to learn something from them.

What does that have to do with anything? We are talking about portable games, right? I am quite happy with the games that the DS has to offer. They are long, load fast, are fun and the battery life of the DS is good enough to be able to enjoy them for a long time, contrary to the PSP. :o

That's what they have always done. N64 > PS1. GameCube > PS2. Didn't help them investing in the newest technology so they were smart and went the opposite way. Nobody is forcing you to buy those games either. Furthermore, cartridges load faster as far as I am aware. It's a portable console after all. Why waste time on loading a game if you can play it right away? ;)

You really are a blind fanboy. I have spent over fifty hours on both Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow and Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. I spent a good deal of time on Super Mario 64 DS and Metroid Prime Hunters as well and I am not even done with those yet! Furthermore, GTA games just don't appeal to me. They are way too casual fo my tastes.

I get my consoles and handhelds for games. The DS has some great games. I prefer them over the PSP. The public seems to prefer the DS over the PSP as well. Deciding this in a democratic way, namely by voting, the DS would sure as hell be voted to be the better of the two.

nah, to be fair, PSP has got some great games lately. But i still think the DS is the better handheld for me.

See, the thing with sony fans are, they get a system that has hardly any good games, then when it does get a game thats good, they wont stop talking about it. Almost everyone owns an ipod. The DS has a huge, great library of games, with no sign of slowing down anytime soon.

So how can you make the claim (which I assume you're doing based on your reccommendation) that they're anymore accurate when some reviews are tabulated from 129 sites, another from 87 with a solid chunk of sites that don't overlap? It's a concensus of scores, yes, but random scores, a great many from sitesYOU wouldn't sneeze at, let alone quote on their own.

Which is why we DON'T use Gamerankings here in the first place. I assume since you're ON Gamespot, you trust Gamespot... unless their score on a particular game doesn't suit your palate. Am I far off?

I DO know I was the one thattabulated thescore on that voteactually, so I'm well aware Anarchy rules. But when it comes to scoring, Gamespot scores are the ones that take precedence, as evidenced by a prior vote. So I assumed you must be new as you apparently didn't know that, or chose not to practice it in the hopes it would strengthen your argument. A consensus of scores that isn't from a controlled set is not consistent, and MOST are bold if you look at the two titles in question.
