I know from experience that you're more "cool" if you use a psp here in nyc. But I have a ds, and psp has nothing on trauma center, mario kart, hotel dusk, castlevania, jump superstars(import), ff3, elite beat agents, phoenix wright. See that? That's variety. If you hate shooters and racing games, most of psp's "AAs" are gone.

And DQ monsters, lunar knights, zelda, dragon quest 9, and FF12 are coming in the near future to put the final nail in the psp's coffin.

I don't know about you, but if things keep looking this way, '07 will end the PSP.

Everytime i run out of DS's, i buy three, glue them together, and use them as toilet paper. PSP is the best system there is. who agrees with me.

PSP: psp is a ps2, ipod, a dvd player, and computer, internet, and everything else put togenter.

DS: has silly and childish graphics from Snes and atari, also has two screens for bait.

Overall the PSP is WWWAAAYYY better then the DS.

I'm sorry but PSP is being dominated by the superior DS. Playstation should just discontinue the awful thing and focus more time and money into their PS3. About 2 DS'es are sold for every 1 PSP that is sold. Nintendo has shown again why the dominate the handheld market.

Because when your selling a GAME system, games should be the main focus. Someone should remind Sony about that, because they don't seem to get the clue.

I don't care for either, I was just stating the fact that the PSP is being dominated by the DS, and that can be proven by sales records. I'm just fine with my 360 and wii, I'm not going to waste my money on a handheld.

again, it's still all opinion. I have a PSP. I've bought about 5 racing games for it and none of them have come close to how fun mario kart is. quantity =/= quality. and you again bring up reviews. other peoples reviews =/= my opinion. I think halo deserved an 8.5, I think SotC deserved a 9.2, and I think that a some PSP games should have scored lower.

Now stop arguing about my opinion, you look like a child when you do this. (no offence)

The PSP had a good 2006 in terms of games, and by the looks of things the trend will continue into 2007. I think the PSP may slowly make a comeback if its price drops, but it will never close the gap fully.

The point though is that the PSP captured a decent portion of the handheld market. Nintendo no longer owns the whole handheld market, and for Sony's first handheld thats a success IMO. Perhaps Sony's next handheld will provide a much closer race.

Are you of the impression that the DS is only selling to children?  Maybe it is different where you come from, but the only people i know or have seen playing DS in public are 20+.

Bloody games do not equate to great games and games that are colourful yet lack excess blood do not equate to crap.
If you mean kiddy as in the game content is non offensive by our societies standards, then sure, mario kart is kiddy.  But you make it sound like it is a bad thing that mario kart is more colourful, when in fact part of what makes mario kart so great is its charm.

You are entilted to enjoy PSP games more, perhaps you like games with more grit or violence.  But games that lack that are not poor or for little children alone.  Don't be so naive, many people who buy DS games are not children.  Also, try to keep in mind just because something does not fit your taste it does not mean it must be crap.  I do not like Halo: Combat Evolved but i know it is a good game.

DS has some great titles any gamer should check out.  LIke Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney or Hotel Dusk: Room 215.

When the DS was first released i didn't give it a chance.  IT was not asthetically pleasing, its launch games were not appealing(its best looking game was a "port" of a game i loved though) and the PSP looked like it had made the better choices. It was sleaker, had better graphics, and more functionality as well as more interesting games.  However, in time the DS got more and more games that i just couldn't pass up.  I finally purchased a DS lite after much anticipation with mario bros and castlevania, and i fell in love with handheld gaming.  Something i had never been a big fan of(i had completely skipped over the GBA). 
The reason i love my DS is that it offers some great experiences i could not get on my consoles.  Such as elite beat agents, metroid prime hunters and starfox(i loved the stylus controls for both actually), and hotel dusk.  On top of unique games i also have access to greats like castlevania and mario bros.

As for the PSP; it is not dead and i din't think it will be dead anytime soon.  I highly doubt it can catch the DS in sales, but thats partially because the DS appeals to a broader audience.  The psp is recieving interesting titles soon and already has a decent list of good games.  However, not alot has appealed to me personally, thus i have not bought one.  Though i have considered renting a PSP and buying MetalGear: PO.

DS has New Super Mario Brothers, Mario Kart DS, Hotel Dusk, Brain Age, Final Fantasy III, Yoshi's Island DS, Metroid Prime Hunters, Diddy Kong Racing DS, Kirby:  Squeak Squad, Lunar Knights, Elite Beat Agents, Phoenix Wright, Animal Crossing:  Wild World, Meteos, Super Mario 64 DS, Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, Nintendogs, etc. etc., innovative features, many more games coming out for it, fantabulous first-party support as well as great 3rd party support, the ability to play all of the games in the Gameboy Advance's glorious library, awesome online, a web-browser is coming out for it, and the list goes on...

PSP has... hmmmm.  Better graphics than DS, Metal Gear Solid:  PO, Lumines, Grand Theft Auto: LCS, Burnout, the ability to play music and movies, the... hmmmmm.  Can someone help me out here?

Also, the DS is wicked fun to play and has tons more games than the PSP.

No, its a better gaming system, because  crappy polygonal graphics do not exist on psp and because of the big franchises man

so just consider 1 thing...........Psp plays psp, psx, NES, snes ,amiga, atari, C64,N64,GBA, Sega Genesis, Gamegear and can even play without doubt DS games if someone added that crappy touchscreen

Now tell me.........Can DS pull off PSP games despite GPS, camera and the multimedia features ignored???
