Do you mean like Geometry Wars? I prefer it for TPS but keyboard and mouse are the best for FPSs.

DualShock 3 - Playable, but not the best for shooters (PC).

360 Controller - Good for shooters, and nothing else. Playing a fighting game on it = LOL

I think dual analog is great for shooters. Halo proves it. I've played many shooters using dual analog: UT3, Half-Life 2, Portal, Halo, Timesplitters, and all of them feel amazing. Maybe it doesn't have the pinpoint accuracy that a kb/m would have, but does that mean DA sucks?

No.

In the words of PA: "I don't care if other people trained themselves to eat **** and like it", **** is still **** and dual analogs break the fun for me on shooters.

DS3 or lower are like a throw-about cotroller. 360 controller is comfy but annoying bulky, dualshock is as simple as it gets, who cares if the controls aren't like a trigger games of all types ca adapt to its award winning ergonomics. at risk of sounding like a pr person for sony, i'll conclude by saying if you don't like it don't buy it.

X360 controller is better in shooters, MUCH BETTER in racing games, fighting games - around same. On both X360 and dualshock diagonals suck, HORI is the way to go.

On a non-Wiimote (or DS), I always play with a single analogue setup. It feels much less cumbersome.

Thats a crock, especially when Tom Clancy games are a far cry from the complex tactical squad shooters they were on the PC.

FPS = KB/M

TPS = Dual Analog

The reason is that dual analog is a little slower so it looks more realistic and feels a little heavier in TPS game like GeOW.

IMO.

Yes because that has to do with the wiimote controls on a FPS? You silly fanboy why don't you try things before bashing them. .. I do however agree that KB/M is better but dual analog :lol:

The quality of a game does not equate to the quality of controls. DOA4 outscored VF5 and DOA4 used a crippled D-PAD compared to the PS3's D-Pad.

Dual analog is far from the best but you have no choice but to work with what little you have. Plus the sixaxis is useless. Hardly any multiplat game uses it, so its just a waste of space.

All I'm saying is that the PS2 controller was one of the most comfortable and usable controllers. Everything about it, dual shock 2, weight, and rumble were all used. The sixaxis on the other hand, not so much. No multiplat game really take advantage of it. Most likely the sixaxis is just a disadvantage.

The exclusive games do, however (see FolkLore). How would multiplats take advantage of the motion-controls without changing the game too drastically? I think it's fine the way it is; used in small doses, and optional, of course. As for the weight comment, DualShock 3.

I just think that its kinda disappointing that the Wii controllers and the Xbox 360 controllers and the PC key board and mouse are always in full use with every game but the PS3 sixaxis is not.

Ahaha, another great quote from Wok7. Reverse that statement to achieve success in your post.

Why is it that there are so few tactical, serious shooters on consoles compared to PC? Mabye because the DA setup is good for arcade styled FPS games like Halo 3, RFOM?

Why does ANYONE try to make out that the DA setup is better in terms of performance? If you disagree, I'm sure any of the hermits would be happy to drop your ass in a KB/M v's DA FPS.

I'm not a big fan of console shooters. I've only enjoyed a few, but I prefer KBM. It's only a preference, though: and I can see why many prefer the controller.

I really enjoyed Riddick and Resistance with controllers. Those are pretty much the only shooters I enjoyed with a controller.

I must say, I really enjoyed Resident Evil 4 with the Wiimote. I would like to see a variation of Resident Evil 5 on the Wii one day. I just don't seem to like it for FPSes: it's not really pratical, in my opinion.
