I wouldn't be shocked in the slightest if that is the case but so far most gameplay details are just rumors and speculation.

Personally I would prefer Nintendo just had the cajones to drop Link for a game, it would be a fun flavor win to let Zelda be cool and heroic now that she's done with her whole destiny story.

Honestly, I rate it a 6/10. Microsoft won E3 with a 7/10 rating.. I personally don't really care for the Metroid franchise, so meh. Happy those fans at least got a new game with 2D Metroid though. However, where is a new Donkey Kong, Bayonetta 3, gameplay of Breath of the Wild 2? What about Pokemon? I get that Pokemon usually has their own Direct, but couldn't we at least get a trailer or an announcement?

Well there was gameplay for BotW2, albeit very brief.

As for Pokemon trailers/announcements I feel like we already got that for the remakes and the Arceus game. As you've said for more info they'll most probably end up doing a pokemon direct.

I'm just happy a new Metroid is coming out.

Overall this E3 was meh but that was where my expectations were.

They showed some gameplay for BotW2.

It's not a new prime but oh well. 2d metroids are dope also.

Best show from e3 but still a big disappointment. The other stuff was like a 3 out of 10 this like a 5 out of 10. No Splatoon 3, no 3d Mario, no Oot, MM, WW, TP hd, no DK and BOTW 2 may end up being a 2023 game. Still no bayenta 3 or Metroid Prime 4. How do you take 6 years to make a game that is reusing assest in BOTW 2? I am not saying I was expecting all of that but thought we could at least get a few of those things but we didnt get any of them. Also is DK dead? I mean its been a little over 7 years sense the amazing TF.

What he's saying is such bullshit. That they couldn't do Metroid Dread for over 15 years, because "the technology wasn't there". The game doesn't look like anything special visually, so it can't be that. There is an enemy that stalks Samus, which several way older games already do, so it can't be that either. So what about Dread is so "technically advanced" that you needed to wait 15 years for yet another severely underpowered system? I'm gonna guess nothing.

This game will not be received very well and will not sell well. Sheep excuse will be "well, Metroid never was selling a lot of copies". Then you will see Nintendo keep on ignoring the franchise because a shitty Metroid game didn't do well. Reminds me of Microsoft and the Perfect Dark series. Maybe if they stopped creating shitty versions of their games, it wouldn't be doing poorly? How about that?

Lol. I do think I like Back4Blood, Halo Infinite, and Forza Horizon 5 combo on Gamepass this holiday over that Nintendo list.

Metroid is not a huge seller but tbh you never know with the Switch, Dread may end up selling similarly to previous entries or it may actually perform better.

I don't want to hear any excuses. Seriously tired of Metroid being seen as "doesn't sell well". When was the last time a proper Metroid game came out? I don't even remember how long ago. Was gaming as big as it is now? No. So how would you know how well, or poorly this franchise would perform in 2021 when Nintendo neglects it so bad? And releasing a 2d side scroller is not how you test the waters.

An excuse for what? I was just stating a fact, not saying it's the cause of anything.😅

Everyone says this. Tired of hearing it. You can never know how the series perform if the last time they've released one was when we still had pagers.
