EA: Halo Infinite to blame for 2042's failure

I hope not. This is just the internet. 1s and 0s. I have zero internet friends. I want zero internet friends. Your problem is, you don't like people like me, who enjoy both consoles, being able to criticize your preferred piece of plastic. Maybe if you didn't try to spin things to the moon and back, you wouldn't be so peeved when you are called out. You take the internet way too serious.

The worst thing about taking the internet too serious and this forum, is that you are doing it on "System Wars". Look at Secret Police, he finds the pure entertainment in this sadly dwindling forum. Same goes for Pedro. He's all about watching the meltdowns. At the same time, he has no problem calling out the Xbox or Nintendo failures. Same goes for me. It's "System Wars".

I will continue to enjoy all my games, like Horizon Forbidden West and Forza Horizon 5, all my consoles...PS5 and XSX....and come to this forum "System Wars" when I am at work with downtime to have these fun pointless debates with NON friends.

Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Gaf, and Resetera are all cesspools. Game forums continue to drop in popularity thanks (no thanks) to social media and keyboard warriors/tribalists.

Halo came and went in a month. The scene was ripe for a class-based multiplayer shooter and people tend to like Battlefield...but not this one.

It definitely hurt them on timing, but if BF hadn't of sucked it wouldn't had been as bad. Not only did their timing suck the game sucked, double whammy

EA says that the meeting is being mischaracterized.

"These stories are not accurately capturing the discussion and the context, which was an in-depth and very humble internal conversation about the recent Battlefield launch," EA communications VP John Reseburg said in a statement sent to PC Gamer. "It was about key learnings and actions we are taking, not blaming external factors."

And PC Gamer kinda calls out Xfire or whatever the sites called.

Anyway, it's not over for either Battlefield or Halo. It's not abnormal for online multiplayer games to grow in popularity as new content and fixes come out.

I initially brought up sales because it’s odd to attribute a commercial failure to a game they are outselling.

Then it just turned into me taking jabs at your “Game Pass doesn’t hurt sales” take. Multiple people also stated that, like the Infinite multiplayer being f2p, that Game Pass is also causing a dip in Halo Infinite sales. A topic that you would NEVER admit to.

Well, now we all know this blame of Halo Infinite is b.s. and EA has called out the report and it’s misuse of context. The xfire author has gone on to blame “deadlines” for is omission of actual quotes. Then he continues to misrepresent the quotes while ignoring all context. THATS the real story here. But you’re in your feelings about Infinite being 18th in NPDs a month after release. And the player base falling off the face of the earth. “buh buh buh, that’s irrelevant…” Doesn’t mean it’s not the reality of the situation…

I’m not putting the sales of the paid BF campaign against the f2p Halo multiplayer. I’m comparing what can be compared. The $60 BF2042 multiplayer vs the $60 Halo Infinite campaign sales. More people are spending $60 on one of those games than the other. It just so happens to be the broken game that’s selling more.

this entire topic is about Battlefield 2042.. a multiplayer game.. so why are you bringing the singleplayer campaign of Halo Infinite into the equation when the Halo Infinite multiplayer is free?.. NPD is completely irrelevant in this case yet that is what you led with and that is what you are tripling down on at this point..

dude, both multiplayer games launched in November (a critical point for initial player counts).. Halo Infinite's singleplayer didn't even become a factor until December and you're hanging your hat on January NPD charts.. 😐 you're just spouting pure nonsense and people are rightfully calling you out on it..

So once again Halo is, was, and always will be a funnerer game to play than battlefield. Early Access Halo still launches in a better state than most of the recent Battlefield games have. Absolute state of Electronic Arts.
