Maybe if this game gets a lot of attention, Nintendo will give it a shot. I doubt that will happen in the near future though since a lot of people have not bought a Wii-U yet.

I didnt say it was happening, I said call me if it does happen because thats the only interest Id have in buying the games.
Besides, people spent years saying it earthbound wouldnt even come out at all, yet here we are. So there is always a chance, even if it is slim.

Interesting... This game was rated E back in the day. Now it's T on the E shop... How times have changed

Nintendo releasing an old SNES game on Virtual Console is completely different from them making a 3 game compilation and localizing it with the rights for Western Territories. Not to mention they already have a Mother compilation on the GBA that was never going to and didn't leave Japan but you can always have hope I guess, carry on.$10 for an snes rom dump is ridiculous. Square Enix has some competition in the overpriced rom space. MFDOOM1983To be fair, it's been optimized for the gamepad and comes with the digital version of the strategy guide. I still don't think that's enough for $10 though.
I only have £3 on my WiiU. I wouldn't of minded a change of pace in games after Dark Siders 2. Oh well, I may download when Nintendo / Capcom put on Breath of Fire 2 on the VC. £6.99 here in the UK. Should of put it on for 30p for a couple of days just like Super Metroid, Kirby, Yoshi and Mario etc.
False. It never made it to the Wii. It's $10 on Wii U or $200 on SNES. Either way though, I'll be waiting on it. If they didn't have that premium on it for some arbitrary reason it would be one thing.Yawn, another old game we could buy for Wii as well?

It didn't even make the Japanese VC on the Wii.
The only way you could get the game digitally before now was to pirate it or get one of the Japanese versions or the Uber expensive US cart.
This release is Europe's First Official release as it was never ported to Europe.
You could almost say that this is an Official WiiU Exclusive title akin to Xbox 360 and PS3's HD Re-Releases.
I am confused why this game never made it to the Wii's VC. I had heard it was due to legal reasons regarding the ROM or software (I can't remember; it's been too long), and due to that it was unlikely to ever become downloadable.

the Legal Reasons were debunked a long time ago.
I'm assuming the real reason is, "Game sold like crap years ago. It'll sell like crap now because no one knows about it."
despite being one of the most sought after games of all time.
It could also be that since Nintendo is fully aware of all the fan Translation Roms out there, they just saw no need to re-release the game officially.
It's only thanks to Miiverse that they decided to go ahead with this.

Why is a reasonably priced digital version not an option? There's nothing stopping Nintendo from doing that.
When did I say it was their only pricing option?I couldn't get into mother so I'm sure I couldn't get into this pretty cool though. Though why the hell is it 10 bucks.

When you post something like this:

You're basically saying the premium is okay because of the alternative. It's better, but still overpriced, and we shouldn't lessen our standards in the digital pricing realm because of expensive carts.
That wasn't saying "it was their only option." It was saying saying "pick your freaking poison if you want to play the game THAT BADLY."Like Greyseal below said, $10 isn't THAT bad. I'd complain if it was $15+.

In the age of free internet walkthroughs, why use a strategy guide?
