All of their accessories are ripoffs, so this one might be the same.

wow, what did you expect it to cost? $200? $150 is wayyyyyy to much. They can almost buy a Wii for that amount. If they are truely going after non-traditional gamers they just priced themselves out of the market right from the get go. Who would choose this over Wii?Well,I guess it´s cheaper than I thought.
Arach666
They would be idiots to have that be their cheapest sku. Sony will kill them in sales for the next couple of years if that is the case.Honestly, if that 299 arcade bundle is true, and if that's the only arcade sku out there, that's great news for Sony.

For under $100 you get A move controller and an eye toy 2. That's one move controller. Since natal is no controller, you won't need to buy more natals to have more then one player. However, you're going to need to buy more move controllers for multiplayer games.lmao , this is a joke......i love this...........spin this one lemmings.......for under a 100 dollars you get a move controller and a freakin eye toy 2.....well i guess when you are willing to pay 50 dollars a year for p2p online then you'll pretty much get anything ;)
Syn_Valence
Meh, it would have to go under £50 for me to think of getting it. Unless they have a Natal-exclusive Halo game or something mean like that. >_>
Can't you just focus on your core gamers Microsoft!? :( Halo, Gears, Ninja Gaiden and Forza are all way more successful than Scene It, You're in the Movies and any of the other casual stuff you've done...

Have you seen it demoed? More than two people and MS will get a lawsuite the moment someone drop kicks their friend in the face by mistake. So congrats....yes you don't have to buy a "controller" for a second person because you can't play more than one person at the same time. At least Sony's move will give you the option.I agree with everyone in that, that price is way too much, but MS arent stupid, they want Natal to succeed, so if this is true then maybe Natal is actually "that" good and they're confident that when we see it we'd be willing to pay that much. That or they've gone completely mad.
Must've been a turnaround since then. Look at how well DDR and the band games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band have been doing. This is so dumb, no one is going to pay that much for an add on.. Have these companies learned nothing from the add on fiascos that happened in the early 90s?

if they payed me $150 to have it in my house it would probably just gather dust. they are fools to not have just skipped it this gen and put it in the next xbox.

Wouldn't Microsoft simply countersue for making a frivolous lawsuit (after all, why must Microsoft pay for other peoples' stupidity--what about Nintendo being sued for Wiimotes flying off and catching someone upside the head?)?Word is they're putting their feet in both generations. Natal will simply be the prelude to a next-gen console with something like Natal built in.if they payed me $150 to have it in my house it would probably just gather dust. they are fools to not have just skipped it this gen and put it in the next xbox.

everyone, take the price of a normal webcam, look at it, you can find webcams for over $100 that do less than natal, natal is at the right price. no one should complain

I know they're still going to have multiplayer games though even if you end up taking turns. And I don't see why you couldn't have two players. If people are drop kicking each other, they're playing it wrong, that's their own damn fault. It's not like for surfing you can't have two people standing close to each other or for street fighter you might have to make certain hand gestures and such, you're not actually attacking the person you're playing against.[QUOTE="darthogre"][QUOTE="MotionNight"] For under $100 you get A move controller and an eye toy 2. people have hit eachother and things with the wii remote, and as sony said that the move is alot like the wii remote

This is true
Rock Band costs a bomb, sold well and only played Rock Band. I don't like the price one bit (if accurate), but If its marketed as well as the Wii and has a bucket of software then it could be a great success. I mean people were buying Wii Fit for £99 during the shortage, thats like $150 and you could barely call it a game.
the fact its on pc as well i think is a bad idea. It's good for pc gamers becuase who wants to use the same controlers that were not even made with gaming in mind, forever? But for the 360 its yet another reason why 360 is just a pc with locked down hardware .

well I mean lookat at what you get for rockband. You get a 60$ game, a mic, a guitar, and a drum set. You are paying for just a camera in this case. People see the guitars and drums sets and go woh, I wanna play that. They dont look at a camera and go hey this is totally worth an extra 150$. I know it may not seem different. But to the average consumer I think it really is

Not that it matters. I was not a fan of the concept to begin with.
The Micro$oft wifi add-on is $100, the 60GB HDD+3 months XBL+headsetis $100and the 250GB HDD is $130, so a $150 price tag for Natal seems like a giveaway in comparison.Isn't the wifi adapter for the 360 like $100 bucks, so EDGE might be unto something here with the $150, we shall see. I hope it's lower though.

[QUOTE="Cevesun"]Nintendo won't drop that price unless they can sell the Wii at an outright profit at $149. That may not happen, as the launch price was marginally profitable, the price only dropped recently, and the components are already at the commodity stage, meaning their wholesale costs probably won't drop much more. There was a report that the Wii console only cost only ~ $160 to manufacture in 2006.If Nintendo was really smart, it would lower the cost of a Wii down to 149 at the exact time as Natal. Who the hell knows whether or not Natal or Move will do well, however why not start crushing the competition at your own game? Let it be known that when the current gen ends in 5 years, you dominated even more so than right now.
HuusAsking
And then a subsequent report last year that the manufacturing costs had reduced by a further 45%.
Even factoring in things like Wiimotes, shipping, retailer cut etc. I don't think it's beyond the pale that they would still profit at an $149 price point on the Wii.
[QUOTE="Zero5000X"]I really hope both Natal and Move do terribly.GulliversTravelThe perfect situation is that they do well and leave normal gaming untouched. The great thing about Move is that it slot in into current games, so even more reason for it to do well.
as time goes on they both are really killing themselves and i dont understand why.
why wuld someone buy natal when they can have a wii for 50 dollars more.
and why would someone buy two move controllers when they can get a wii for 20 dollars more.
i really dont get it casuals arent that dumb they ask a lot of questions(trust me i know).do they think casuals are that dumb?
