"The poor [graphics] drivers made it difficult to push either of them, and the developers aren't familiar with the hardware yet"
Â
Interesting.....
Â
Both Sony and Microsoft has s***** graphics drivers.
Blazed
AMD lol. Took them months and months to get the best performance out of the 79XX range.
Our contacts have told us that memory reads on PS4 are 40-50 per cent quicker than Xbox One, and its ALU (Arithmetic Logic Unit) is around 50 per cent faster. One basic example we were given suggested that without optimisation for either console, a platform-agnostic development build can run at around 30FPS in 1920×1080 on PS4, but itll run at 20-something FPS in 1600×900 on Xbox One. Xbox One is weaker and its a pain to use its ESRAM, concluded one developer.
This says it all.
eSRAM is overrated. It's a 32Mb RAM-CACHE, not a independent memory bank. It does not ADD extra bandwidth, it accompanies the existing bandwidth for a marginal performance increase.
It doesn't TOUCH GDDR5 speed or output.

Before you go spankin' it, half the info in that article is out of date...
What concerns me is the "Castration effect".
Because the Xbox One is inferior, it'll be cheaper and easier for MULTIPLAT developers to just make games on the weaker hardware and then port it over to the PS4, than it would be to make the game better on the PS4 and just make sacrificies for the XB1 version.
Â
It'll be up to Sony's first-party developers to create PS4 exclusives that take full advantage of the PS4's power, since multiplat developers will likely be basing their builds on the inferior XB1 hardware.
Anonymous source? A+ quality journalism there. Whatever sells magazines and gets the website hits though, right?HadOne2Many
Yeah anonymous sources are bullshit most of the time, no accountability.
Anonymous source? A+ quality journalism there. Whatever sells magazines and gets the website hits though, right?HadOne2ManyIf any developer said this openly they would get fired. Anonymous source from a respected publisher like Edge is fine.

I question if the source even exists, articles like these generate hits like nobodys buissness ( the ign linking article got like over 2000 comments in mere hours while most other articles (that have been there for longer) have like less than 500. No accountability, for all we know the souce may only exist in the "journalists" head.
Bad reporting anyway, no credible sources, means there should be no article posted.

I don't care for Edge. They are obviously a bias magazine. Don't think they've said anything positive about the Wii U or XBox One in any of their articles. They should just change their name to PS Edge and go work for Sony.
Not sure if you're serious."can run at around 30FPS in 1920×1080 on PS4, but itll run at 20-something FPS in 1600×900 on Xbox One. Xbox One is weaker and its a pain to use its ESRAM, concluded one developer."

lets see lems damage control this and laugh a bit.

Maybe because it is a magazine for gamers. I think most people didn't really care about the console difference power wise, until Albert PenAhole had to open his mouth and spread FUD. Â It got the less informed individuals heart rate up and now we have several corrections coming in on the subject. Â This is the result.
Edge's anonymous sources have proved to be right multiple times and the lems know it :PWhy would gamespot share a artcile with piss poor journaslism? No source???Â
By the way didnt we hear the same thing before the PS3/Xbox 360 launch??
This is almost as bas as MSNBC....

Â
Holy sh** so it was even worse than i described...
Â
So i was spot on with my prediction that a PS4 game that is running at 30 FPS on xbox one will run like 20 or less oh and on 1600X900,i actually claculate the same resolution.
This is easy to see i told you so is 600Gflops is not nothing 480Gflops was anough to create a gap in some games of 40 FPS average most of the time was 15 FPS.
Â
Â
Well...I'm sure 3rd party devs will make multiplats similiar by downgrading the PS4 version for parity. If PS4 takes off and becomes the "it" console and completely destroys the Xbone in sells, then I could see 3rd parties not caring about parity anymore.
One thing seems certain though, PS4 exclusives are going to look better than Xbone exclusives...sounds like by a lot too. So far I haven't seen anything on Xbone that looks better than Second Son or Deep Down and those are going to be early gen releases. Can't wait to see what things look like in 4 years.
