If I remember right. the 3rd score is the official 1up score. so 1up rated it an 8

I have the magazine and the scores are not averaged. It's just three reviewers opinions on a game. 2 AAA 1 AA I can definitely see Sigma getting an AA here but that won't stop me from buying a great game.Ibacai

Very good score for a third outing.And especially since EGM seems to hate Team Ninja lately....But who cares what EGM thinks?There magazine blows.

I hyped AAA. 

but in my hype post in the official thread, I had reservations because it's essentially the same game with a new coat of paint, a few new enemies, a few new weapons and some remixed levels (along with a couple new).  depending on how the reviewers look at those facts, it would dictate whether the game is considered AA or AAA.

I predicted 8.6 so it is where I expected it.

Sounds like the game is great, as expected, just has a few technical problems that hurt the score.

I wouldn't worry about getting owned either there will be some clamouring but I think the ownage when Warhawk and Lair come out will be more severe although the more I am seeing Lair lately the more I am thinking it has a chance to score well...

I don't know why people would try to claim ownage with NG its a great game reguardless

I don't know why people would hype Sigma AAA, it'll be a great game and all but I played it 3 years ago. Sure there are a couple of new features but its a pretty big stretch for GS to give a 3 year old port AAA.

And anyone who thinks Sigma is exclusive is stupid, by that logic Virtua Tennis 3 is 360 exclusive because it has online multiplayer and the PS3 version doesn't. Just because the game has some new content doesn't make it a new game.

Oh so it works like this... One cow makes a thread of how sigma is the best game ever and it's going to get an AAA for sure!.. So a bunch of lemmings come a long and say how it's the worst game ever because it isnt on there system... Then the score finally arrives.. and lemmings are like ohhh seee I told you!! Ninja gaidden the worst flop in history!! Makes sense lol :| I really don't want to go by these "rules".

Game informer in Germany scored Sigma 82%, less than Mario strikers which got 83%

they said Sigma had problems with textures, and had the same problems as the Xbox version, whatever that means. There is no way in hell a 3 year old port is getting AAA on Gamespot, this game will flop hard in most reviews. People have played the game on Xbox and moved on.

Itagaki has said 360 is his main platform and his next game is the one people are expecting. It doesn't take Inspector Gadget to understand what that means.

So 2 AAA vs 1 AA means its on its way to be a flop? Dont get me wrong, yes it may be a new port, but can u name me 1 next gen action game that is better then NGS? I didnt think so, and this is one thing reviewers forget, if there is no action game out there to compete vs NGS then they still have to give credit to team ninja for enhancing everything from the old ninja gaiden games and making the first ninja gaiden for next gen. Look at the xbox 360, its been out all this time and not one action game to even be on the level of a ninja gaiden sigma until devil may cry 4 comes out but that is also on the ps3 and pc. My point is these reviews shouldnt be nit picking at every little thing, because what it looks like for example, if a shooter doesnt look as good as gears of war, they automatically downgrade it just like they did with RFOM, which really didnt get all the credit it deserves. It is a great game and is very underrated compared to gears of war.

How is a it a flop?

 8.7 is what should be expected of the third NG - of the same one game.
