Nintendo set the standard on the DS. When you downgrade on the next one you can't be surprised if people complain. Future iterations should improve not decrease features. Bread_or_Decideyou're speaking as though the 3DS is weaker than the DS :?

I dont think he is referring to the system as whole just the battery. One thing that made the DS awesome was that you could play it forever and it wouldnt die. It is a downgrade when comparing it to that,

in terms of about everything else though it's an upgrade.According to IGN, the battery can last as little as 2.5 hours. Now that is simply terrible. What if you have to travel and can't charge?

Imo games > battery life and if you are interested in the games you could allways get another battery.
It's not a deal breaker for me but I'm not a fan of the battery life.
I don't play handhelds on the go much so I'm mostly playing in my home. Still, I don't like playing handhelds while I'm hooked up to a cord.
I'm waiting for a redesign regardless, so hopefully it improves some.

Not really, I am prefer the Psp and never owned a DS but the 3DS is garranteed victory in the handheld market this gen. The NGP is hopefully successful though as it looks like I will prefer it.
People will buy the 3DS because of 3D and the NGP and 3DS will share the "hardcore games". Sony can hope only to exceed the psp's sales but its pretty much a given they cannot "win" especially coming late like the N64, Xbox, and GC did.
The barier isn't about how long I play it, it's about how long I can travel with it without requiring a charge. Not everyone is always near a wall charger or a proper socket at the end of the day. Also if it's like the DS I doubt I can just stock a few spare batteries away like I did my PSP.Who plays handheld games more than 3-5 hours anyway?
