Where is the "sharp textures" that the OP promise?

http://yfrog.com/0jyoyobhj Try my screenshotI'd like to see what the rest of KZ3 looks like. Although Crysis no doubt looks better in many places, I think it's a much harder call on the snow and underground levels. I think it's a dead heat when comparing the snow and underground levels of KZ3 and vanilla Warhead. That's just me though. The pc game would still have the advantage of full AA and resolution.
He He. I hope the TC don't mind if I borrow one pic. He He. I'm having a hard time deciding which one is better.
Edit: The reason Warhead looks blurry is because I have Shaders at Enthusiast/Very High DX10. It looks sharper if I leave Shaders at Gamer/High.

Wow, KZ3 doesn't come close, still a great looking game though.I just loaded up a few Crysis saves and took 4 screenies. Let's see how KZ3 stacks up against it shall we?
Pretty good for a console game I'd say. So the KZ3 screenies has taken a lot of heat in this post but keep in mind that we're most likely peeved by the fact that consoles shots are normally more bull than screen.
It's going to look great in 720p on a TV as long as you're not sitting with your face 1 yard away. Crysis will look even better obviously.
Edit: lol at my fps taking a nosedive in the last one. Guess I chose the wrong second to hit F12.

Funny how insecure PC gamers are.[QUOTE="OctaBech"][QUOTE="GeneralShowzer"]As a mainly PC gamer I'm gonna give one big meh.mattuk69
Insecure? Hes right the game looks meh at best. A console gamer will think think it looks amazing, but a PC gamer which has seen much better graphics will not be impressed. I could post all the Metro 2033 and crysis pics i want, but you still wont understand how meh those pics look to what PC graphics are capable of today.
I own a pretty decent gaming rig there is nothign meh about KZ2 and when you can count the number of fps on one hand that look better on pc i wouldnt be saying meh. Not to mention most of the metro 2033 screenshots dont look impressive at all.
OT, you've gotta be freaking kidding me. Have you ever played STALKER or Gears of War PC on minimum settings? It looks just like that... Please don't tell me thats fire in the 3rd picture......oh God please let it be debris or something.TheBigBadGRIM
If you think Gears of war on pc on minimum settings are any settings for that matter touches KZ3 you need to get your eyes checked.
I don't know why some people think Killzone looks "blurry and too grainy" and is a "mixture of greys and browns". I don't know about you particular people who might live in a world were guns shoot bright purple beams, and there are fields of brightly coloured lollipops, but Killzone is a FPS about war. I have not been to war, but if there is one thing I know, its that war is gritty, and in the location of an industrial world like the setting of Killzone, the colour pallete is mostly greys and browns.
If anything Killzone should be applauded for its colour palette, and for its 'blurry, gritty visuals".

I didn't know Killzone 3 had massive amounts of film grain. Oh wait. Because it doesn't. I have watched so much gameplay footage, and I fail to see any so called film grain...
I didn't know real life had massive amounts of film grain. You are missing the point and so do many of others, if you ever watched Saving private Ryan on Blu-ray you'd see how grainy and grey it looked. Killzone 3 does the same effect and it's not suppose to render real life effect in the manor Crysis does.Hakkai007

Plenty of times warzones are like that, nature doesn't dramatise things for the benefit of the viewer.

Well it's ugly as hell.
In Mass Effect 1 and 2 for the PC they gave you the option to turn film grain off and it looked so much better with it off.
What do you know about nature on Helgan?[QUOTE="hypoty"] nature doesn't dramatise things for the benefit of the viewer.

I know its atmosphere is toxic, and is plagued by electrified skylines and storms. It's also mostly covered by rocky terrain and large mountains. Its fauna is also just as bad as it's atmospheric conditions. Though, I think you missed my point. Neither Halo, Crysis or Killzone's presentation of a warzone is incorrect, and being darker and grainier certainly doesn't make it more realistic (and vice-versa).
Comparing with crysis would be better if you used multiplayer like KZ3.killzowned24Too bad they deleted that video you posted a while back comparing Crysis 2's beta gameplay to Killzone 3's.

You can turn it off in the console versions as well.
Film grain can look good if not overdone and used properly to just accentuate certain moments.
I'm pretty sure a minor film grain effect pops up in crysis during a few key parts.

Crysis' theme is a tropical island...and not war torn or is mostly untouched until the Delta team visited the island and next the whole US army.[QUOTE="hypoty"][QUOTE="gpuking"] What do you know about nature on Helgan?

I know plenty of people who dislike Killzone's artstyle (which has been consistent since the original). I find both Crysis's and Killzone's artstyles to be impressive. Though, those screenshots the TC posted are ugly as hell.

I never seen that film grain being used in Crysis and I make sure to turn it off in any game because it looks horrible.
Those KZ3 screenshots look much uglier because of the film grain.
And then there is all that blur.....or maybe the textures just lack detail to begin with.
A better example of razor sharp textures.]gpukingcool off screenshot, everyone knows that digital cameras add extra detail where it doesn't exist.

I googled it and it looks like warhead has it pop up a few times if you have postprocessing turned all the way up.
I'll trying finding it and capping it with fraps tomorrow.
TC's screenshots are direct feed since they are taken from gametrailers' Forums. It is the PS3's "It only does screenshots v14" -thread where users are using capture cards and then uploading the screenshots on the thread.
Anyhow, looking at these screenshots you kind of miss the "epicness" and everything seems too grainy. Some of you have said it has too much blur but the reality is that KZ3's beta do have very little of motion blur or any kind of blur. It doesn't have a ""vaseline-effect" like KZ2 did (see: quincunx AA, altough KZ2 did very good job with quincunx). As for the grainy looks of the corinth crossing you should remember that a nuclear device has just gone off and that this is really a war torn city. The atmosphere is very impressive and hectic.
While you may not see such epicness from these screenshots I can assure you that Killzone 3 beta looks stunning, it has so much stuff going on the screen and the particle effects are insane. And I'm sure that guerrilla games will make KZ3 to look even more impressive graphically. They have the time and knowledge to do so. Finally, there is also the Frozen Dam -level if you don't like the grain. Thanks for reading!

sigh why would you even put the screens at the same resolution. First of all, if you put the resolution of any screen down, you can make even the Wii look equal to the PC. If you want to see the differences put the screens at their native resolution then compare.
No Wii game will look even close to a downscaled PC game. Crysis at 640 x 480 still looks light years ahead of the Wii.

Well it was impressive how large the environments were, but if you compare to other games on the Xbox.. like Riddick, that game smashes even lots of games now.Well lets see..... Halo CE came out 2001 and was one of the first Xbox games and definitely one of the best looking shooters during it time and you are comparing it with Riddick which came out in 2004? How does this make sense?
People should see the game in motion before making any conclusions.
The game looks amazing and plays well, too. Even better than Killzone 2.
