It's the trendy thing to do, along with politicizing every non-pc action in a game. That's ok though, because I don't give a rats ass about review scores and never have, but you see factions falling on their swords here simply because of the platform it's on. Funny thing is, most of the ardent defenders probably wouldn't even notice or care about it otherwise.

Yep the world (not just gaming) really has gone to hell with all this PC shit (not THAT PC before the herms interrupt their torrents and endless search for 2 dollar Steam deals to throw their toys out of the pram).

Weird thing is, I had high hopes for this game. I thought it might be a good first person adventure game with strong story and good atmosphere not a four hour completely non interactive yawn which according to some of the reviews I've read doesn't even reach a satisfactory conclusion.

The only way to get away with this shit is announce it as an indie game. 9, fucking 9. Jesus wept.

When I first heard of it, I thought this was a Bioshock spin-off mainly just because it has the name, Rapture in it. I honestly thought it was talking about the first Bioshock game.

Never followed it, but from what im hearing now it doesnt sound like a game at all by my definition.

what i find irritating about ppl that bring up metacritic is they lump in all these sites that a lot of ppl dont trust that usually gives the game a 8-10 score that skews the score. why should unofficial playstation mag kazakstan review count if no one has even heard of the effin site? if i trusted their review, i would be on their forums instead of gamespot for better or worse. i accepted mcshea and his trolling scores

@tormentos: Cool. I'll have fun with cows that flip flop depending on the game in question. Like calling out Forza 5 for lower Meta, but being hyped about this game getting a 9 here but a 78 on Meta

Don't get mad at me, It's not my fault the vast majority of PS4's narrow exclusive lineup consists of movies.

I complain even more when PC gets a shitty movie and/or walking simulator. That crap I actually have to put up with looking at the steam homepage.

I honestly don't care about scores here or on metacritic since I've enjoyed games that scored in the 80's, 70's and even the 60's more than games that have scored in the 90's, they're just a way for one group to claim ownage over another. The game looks boring as all hell and I'm assuming that half of the Playstation fans claiming a victory here won't even play the game but are just getting a hard on because their system got a game that scored a 9/10

Oh another PS4 exclusive that gets a higher score than it might deserve. Xbox exclusives are just the reverse.

Got no problem per se with walking simulators, but am very suspicious as to any given a score like this. It strikes me as political.

Still, I'm intrigued by this one only because of the setting. It's set in a Britain I knew at a time I was growing up, and apparently took inspiration from good british sci fi. So from that perspective I'm probably going to get something from it.

Sounds like a generalzation, especially considering that there's considerably more Playstation fans on here than Xbox Fans, none of which are anywhere near as bad as Grenade Launcher and Tormentos. Those 2 aside it seems pretty even to me.

Nope; SecretPolice, FoxBotAlpha and mem are just as awful as those two.

They're not, not even close, none of them literally quote 10+ people in one post like Tormentos does. Fox is more like the Xbox version of Heli where they make more subtle jabs at the competition instead of causing a massive shitstorm like the 2 Playstation idiots I mentioned

This seems to be the reverse situation to the GTAV GS crisis from Sept 2013 (where the personal attacks on the reviewer were far worse than some that have been expressed here).

For me, I have enjoyed their previous games and am looking forwards to playing this - if that doesn't make me a 'true' gamer or whatever then meh.

Games can be any variety of things. If you want to use the "walking simulator" argument because you don't like the style, that's fine. But it looks very interesting and unique to me. I thought Heavy Rain and P.T., for example, were great.

I personally can't stand games where you don't do anything. This, Dear Esther, Journey, Gone Home, its all the same bullshit. Id rather spend my money on something I can play.
