@skunkgp1
I loved it on Normal Difficulty.
@soapandbubbles: Never played the last of us, every time people talk about that game is either about the lesbians DLC or how great the plot is, i don't even know what the gameplay is like in TLOU outside of having shootouts with bums
Play it...trust me.
game was pretty bad for me, 30 mins of cheesy then i gave up on it getting good. can definitely see the insane clown posse dorks this game was geared towards loving it though. bad gameplay, weak effects, no personality for the protagonist, goofy enemies. if making the controls less precise and giving you almost no interaction with the world around you is supposed to build suspense i don't see it.
you can tell this game was designed for people that enjoy simple action games that don't include much user input besides running and pressing action when the screen tells you to. there's nothing wrong with enjoying those kind of games i just enjoy a game that takes a lot more input, control, and thought from the player.
I gotta laugh at this. When did gamers become so weak?
"Evil Within just plain doesn't give you a fair chance to succeed. It doesn't provide enough information for you to make good decisions and it handicaps your ability to fight well. It requires so much repetition that it can't possibly maintain any sense of tension or unease, and its story is told so aimlessly that you'll likely forget the plot between scenes." - Joystiq
Just beat Silent Hill 2 a few weeks or a month ago and I thought it was one of the greatest survival games ever made but if it was released today it would be panned by critics. Resident Evil turning into the trash that it is today is our own fault.

well said!
No it doesn't....
But it does.
clunky shooting zooming in is horrible.
Yeah you're pathetic....

Yea, that's pretty lame from Joystiq..so they want the game to hand hold you "kill it with fire" ..use shotgun don't use pistol, do this & do that? ..I agree the story is convoluted tho. Been reading people have been saying the sneak/stealth kill is no good..haven't had much problem with it..most of my kills are stealth kill.:P

That's why gaming journalism is becoming trashy and unreliable, there's so much inconsistency, over used hyperbole and even self agendas in journalism. It's hard to take them seriously anymore or give them credit when they write reviews now.
@superbuuman
I don't think you know what "Hand Holding" means.
revealing the details of how the game is played isn't hand holding. and even if it was, the alternative is far worse. You be stuck with a game that keeps the basic mechanic hidden from you as an attempt to be difficult, learning these hidden secretes will only then put you back on the same level the game wouldve been play had it featured "Hand Holding" as you so eloquently put it. Its common among Survival Horror games and their fans to believe hiding and discovering basic information is Hardcore.
Lulu is right, I can't keep count of how many times AC4 Black Flag didn't inform me how to for example swing on beams (one animus fragment REQUIRED this) or how to use mortars or many other mechanics - which is weird considering how easy the game is.
@Salt_The_Fries
I think the one that bothers me the most is the Compass or radar map thing.... People think knowing exactly where to go is somehow more hardcore then what you do when you finally get there, not to mention most games with feature dead ends invisible walls or empty space, so getting lost has no redeeming value what so ever. If I'm going to get stuck or lost atleast let me discover something.
