Explain to me HOW the 360 had a bad year

It had a lackluster year in terms of exclusives. Bad? Not outright, no. As it had plenty of PC/360 multiplats to keep interest (for me especially).

They've certainly had better years.

Pretty much this. Its not a "bad" year by 2007 PS3 definition or the 2008 year for Wii, but its not the best when their competitors are pulling all the stops and succeeding while they fumble E3 and make Kinect look terrible. Halo: Reach is also like the 6th Halo game (counting Wars) to come out and seems to have all the other exclusives being ignored.

Cheap or not...point is the PS3 has had an amazing year. 2011 is a good indication that the trend will continue. It offers a plethora of diversed genres for many different audiences.

You've done it again. Nothing about this game has been shown sinceE3 2005. Those other games give the PS3 a stronger lineup but you don't need to include the trash and the vapourware.

Alan Wake saved the 360 for me this year. Compared to years "06" "07" etc the 360 is failing. Reach will help some though.

Its probably about the same amount as now but you have games from all sorts of genres. MS were trying to appeal to quite alot of people and they were successful whereas now, theyve just fallen back on their Halo, Forza, Fable setback of the original Xbox. Im sure people like it but for me, the current 360 exclusive list isnt appealing in the least. I dont think the 360 will ever appeal to me again too.

You call that a good year? 7 exclusive games 3 of which are arcade games and two of which aren't out yet, with the other two being floptastic.... you convinced me for sure!

IMO the only things that matter this year are ME2, SC:C, AW,H:R,F3

PS3 will have ME2 later so let's forget about that, we already got Heavy Rain, MAG, GoW3, Yakuza 3,MNR we have Last Guardian,GT5,LBP2, Socom 4 still on the way. There's plenty more on both sides I know but as far as big names this year this is what it looks like.

I know Halo and Fable are the some of the biggest names of xbox but they are only 2 games.

A. Mass Effect 2, Conviction, Metro 2033, and Fable 3 aren't exclusive

B. Case Zero is very short DLC. Hardly qualifies as a full game.

It's not a bad year in terms of the great PC/360 multiplats, a few well-received exclusives like Alan Wake, and Death Smiles, and an awesome looking XBL (sometimes I wish I could play XBLA on my computer, like this year for instance with that Snoopy Flying Ace game).

But it's definitely not as good as the PC or Wii this year. Wii's been smokin the others in Gamespot reviews this year with it's perfect 10, and a whole lot of 7-8.5 rated games just as the PC has done with it's 9.5, and also a ton of quality 7-8.5 games

I think the DS looks to be having the worst year it's ever had as far as reviews go, and even exclusives. The last time I remember a DS exclusive get a hype thread here might have been the Shin Megami Tensei game that got ended up getting a 6.5 right? I attribute the DS's poor 2010 to the 3DS being around the corner. I'm super excited for that.

It doesn't matter if they're not exclusive, because this is about whether or not 360 has had a good year. A system can still have a good year through multiplats, especially in a generation that's so multiplat focused. That being said, this year hasn't been that impressive for the 360.

Except for the Wii, I don't see how the 360 is losing against the PS3 this year

the PS3 had MAG, Heavy Rain, God Of War 3, 3D Dot Heroes, Yakuza 3, White Knight Chronicles, Hustle Kings, etc. so far this year. why would you count PC/360 games? that's like counting PS3/360 games. they're multiplats. oh, because you can't play them on the PS3? oh please. PC is also a system. the exclusives you mentioned are weak compared to Ps3's exclusives.

and gran Turismo 5, and LittleBigPlanet 2 have yet to come out. sorry, but 360's lineup can't be save by Reach alone.

I see one Great game in your ps3 list LBP2.... but thats still only gonna be playable for about a week before you hate it again. The rest are mediocre. 2 majorly good quality 360 exclusives beat out the whole ps3 line up of this year, yeah. But this is off course all my subjective opinion :) Oh and AC : B is a multiplat that'll likely be better than all those games also.

Can't be saved by Reach alone. Lets see how many people are playing these games in 5 years and compare :) Quality over Quantity

You do have your own opinion yes, but there's no denying when it comes to exclusives PS3 -> Xbox 360 this year. You may find Reach to be the "be all and end all" game and that's just fine and dandy, but I'm pretty sure the majority of the gaming community prefer several high scoring games + a lot of good scoring games + multiplats instead of.. One game.

Arent people still saying Xbox 360 libary -> PS3 because of the one year headstart and now that the PS3 is starting to acquire A LOT of good/really good games peopler are suddenly "well we only need like one game anyway.."

The ps3 does have great games. Most are multiplats, much like the 360. But the fact that people keep claiming ownage when they have more games is just stupid. The games are good but are nowhere near the god quality people assume they are just because they are ps3 exclusives. I don't like many 360 exclusives. But this year i did like them, next looks better for the ps3 as far as exclusives go. But the multiplats coming out next year look alot better than any of the exclusives. :)

Basically, exclusives are not "be all end all" of the console war, even more so when the mutliplats are generally better. Graphics =/= Quality which most cows seem to think.

I don't know where you're copying and pasting this list from, but it needs to be cleaned up. You're listing vaporware, games not even announced yet, games coming in 2010, and games already out amongst actual releases.

All those tittles currently have a 2011 release date assuming they don't get posponed. These are Sony's 1st and 2nd party exclussives. Or have you forgotten the fact that Sony's 1st & 2nd party divisions are bigger than Nintendo and MS combined?.

As of now, there's aboslutely no reason to deny that Sony has triumph the competition with exclussives, wether they are cheap or vaporware. The fact that they are releasing games for the hardcore and casual while mentaining a phenomenal list of quality tittles should remind you where they stand compared to Microsoft and Nintendo.
