The Real link talking about the motion sensors.
According to the latest issue of Fortune magazine, the cover story is "How Wii Won", documenting the tremendus success of the Wii.
They showed many reasons why Nintendo is so profitable, most of them praises, but one of them came of a "naughty" reason, the cheapness of the Wii to produce. While Sony lost an epic $2 billion dollars trying to make the PS3's that are still sitting on the shelves, and Microsoft's Xbox 360, which is the "current" leader in the war, has still yet to become profitable on the Xbox 360, Nintendo is getting a lot of money big time. Most of their employess are now millionares. Right there, they exploited Nintendo's wonder stick: The three axis accelerometer from ADI, which is the main motion sensor in the Wiimote, only costs $2.50 to create.

Ay yai yai!
The Wiimote costs $40, yet the most advanced and complicated part of it only costs $2.50!?!
Improbable!
Nintendo has got some explaining to do.
