Might not look exactly like the PC version, but it still looks good to me.

It looks good but has some framerate problems. The PC version is certainly a lot better both graphically and performance wise. Although that is to be expected considering it was using a 680GTX and whatever else.APiranhaAteMyVa

Hopefully still optimising? We shall see.
looks way worse in the ps4 than i thought it would. the poor thing is already outdated before release. :(KarateeeChopJoke? A GTX680 goes for $450 and that is just the GPU:lol:
You would be hard to even notice without back to back comparrisons.

Yeah, and by the time the the PS4 is released, the 760ti will be out and it'll be about as powerful as the 680 and only cost a little over $300.
compared the pc version and ps3 version.
Lots of advanced shadows, depth of field and other things are missing. The AA is also a lot lower quality.
but looks good non the less.
The Pc version has superior depth fo field, shadowing, and particle effects, as well as a better frame rate.
It's also likely that the PC demow asn't fully optimized either.
So obvisouly the PS4 can't do what a PC witha gTX 680 can do.
Is this news to anybody not a console fanboy?
I think we all knew that already. Still, it looks pretty damn good. And now we know it''ll look that much better on PC.
how can you people even tell frame-rate is bad or good when Youtube upconvert and downconvert videos? Youtube is not only capped at 30 frames but that's the only frame-rate it can play so don't bulllcrap us. Unless there is software running that tells you the exact frame-rate then it's not humanly possible to tell the difference with the naked eye.
Even if the demo was running at 60 frames Youtube would downconvert it to 30.

You can tell when something drops below that cap though, which that video clearly did. Watch the side by side things someone posted eariler. It is very easy to see that in some parts the PS4 demos was significantly jerkier than the PC demo.how can you people even tell frame-rate is bad or good when Youtube upconvert and downconvert videos? Wow.
The framerate might be capped at 30 FPS on a youtube video, but that doesn't mean the content can't go lower. And it's OBVIOUS when the frame rate takes a dive. Anyone with two funcitoning eyes can see. Or maybe even just one.

Hell it should be lower than $300 (both the gtx 560 ti and gtx 660 ti where $240-$280 at launch). Not only that but the 760ti is rumored for this summer which is 4-5 months before the ps4 launch (which means possible price drops or at worse $20-$30 worth of rebates). Not only that but its going to have to compete with the 8000 series from ATI which has been announced for this winter (which will means even more price drops/sales)Ok that doesn't look too hot to behonest :? And all these people said it was cos they didn't have time to work on the PS4 properly, well here it is and it still looks a lot worse
Also the PC version never looked all that spectacular anyway, it had nice particles and lighting but textures were sh!t, this looks even worse
PC version has better textures (on the pillars it's most noticeable) and DOF.
Some things also changes aesthetically since the PC demo which doesn't seem anything to do with power (e.g. why are mountains only visible on PS4 version here):

This is pretty much all that needs to be said. Honestly, no one in their right mind could expect that the PS4 would perform on par with a bleeding edge desktop PC, the individual components of which cost more than the PS4 does in its entirety.
Still, this is impressive, and all that we've seen on the PS4 so far is great for those who prefer/are relegated to console gaming for whatever reason.
SVOGI wasn't enabled and that's a BIG thing, And frames.faizan_faizan
It wasn't enabled because thye just got rid of it. They had to use a more baked version for the PS4 because it couldn't do the SVOGI at a proper framerate. SVOGI is what they thought they would be able to do and then after hearing the PS4s specs they had to change it

Probably, There goes next gen lighting algorithms.Yes, it's obvious the PC is better, but one thing to consider is OPTIMIZATION. It's the things consoles are known for. Developers learn tricks to get around bottlenecks, and by using the same hardware for 6 years, get to learn more about the architecture than developing for a PC market- which can never be as optimized due to constant upgrades. If this demo were shown by the end of the PS4's lifecycle, it would look (and run) better than what we see here. Comparable to PC? No. But closer.jman1553
I would say you're probably right. In 5 years or so, the same engine wll probably runa lot closer to what a GTX 680 can do.... But by that time GTX 680's will be $100 or less, and MUCH more powerful hardware will be available.
It's the enexorable march of tehcnology. Consoles, will never win that game - hell, they even aren't IN that game. I'm not sure why some consolites (and it's only some, the vast majority already know this) are so gun ho about trying to "beat" the Pc at what it does best. It's not going to happen.

Let's hope it isn't a case of consoles holding back PCs in that regard. Would be a shame to remove SVOGI from the engine because of console shortcomings
Lol at you Hermits, the Engine hasnt even been optimized for the PS4 yet, it was a simple mashup they put together real quick for the presentation Plus Ill gladly take better physics on the Ps4 for a little less graphics when compared to PC gamesxboxiphoneps3
What the hell makes you think the Ps4 will be able to pull off better physics?
As long as the games look and run noticeablely better I'm happy. Sounds the Unreal Engine 4 may not be getting much use on next-gen consoles. More of problem for Epic than Sony. I'm sure they will get it together soon even so compromises have to be made.
Didn't any one really expect the PS4 to compete with top of the line PCs. I didn't so I guess that is why I'm not disappointed.

The fact that its a first true HSA design, and the fact that they can use 4 CU's for physics along with the 8 core processor to make some incredible physics..."Next gen" PlayStation games will still be PS3 style slide shows confirmed. Sad times indeed for $ony. RIP.
