[QUOTE="Taalon"][QUOTE="CrimsonBlade360"]The TC has no idea what he is talking about. Fable 2 is not trying to go for photo-realistic graphiccs like crysis does, but more of a fantasy look which looks damn good by the screenshots and will look even better in motion no doubt. The only real person around SW that is hyping this game through "the roof" is saolin and thats his opinion. For me im pretty excited about the game too since the first one was pretty cool but im not gonna put its graphics on crysis level but for art design its pretty even.
CrimsonBlade360
hate to say it but thats exactly what saolin has been trying to do... for about 35 pages saying that fable to has far better technical graphics then crysis... which is honestly laughable.
:D :D :D

[QUOTE="Vyse_The_Daring"]Did anyone other than that Saolin guy say it looked better than Crysis? :?Taalon
Saolin in 3...2...1...Aljosa23rofl
lol and Fable 2 graphics wise is not impressive, only to saolin.
Not impressed by any means at the graphics but that is because we as gamers are expecting a lot from games now.
I'll really enjoy the game when I get to play it, and I think I'll like the graphics a whole lot too, they just won't wow me which is perfectly fine. Not every game has to do that.
It looks damn good for a console game, and the game footage looks better than frozen images.
Furthermore, it's pointless to compare any game to Crysis, since Crysis outshines them all. But that doesn't mean that if a game doesn't look like Crysis, it's "not that visually impressive."
The thing with those screens is you're seeing stuff up close that you WON'T see up close. The camera angles are designed in such a way as to show off the art style, but the 3/4 overhead camera is far enough away that one would probably not even notice higher res textures on the clothing, or flags, or how the plant textures aren't that great.
I don't care about detail when it hardly makes a difference... the way the game is designed, I think what will matter most is the overall landscape and how that looks.

As a pc gamer my self who plays Crysis at high settings as well. The game looks fine.. It has its own ****and looks good for the stuff it was set out for.. I find it relatively rediculous to claim its not up to spunk when many would say WoW is a good looking game due to its art direction even though its extremely lower quality then other games.. Or what about Mario Galaxy? That game in my mind looked amazing as well. So does this one.. People have some awfully rediculous set standards for graphics.. Its starting to become quite sickening in all honesty.

come on, these screens look like utter crap.
Did you read his entire post :?

Watch the gameplay video.
MGS4's textures look like crap in screens too...until you see the game in motion. Same w/ Fable 2.

Just LOL is all I can say. Graphics nit picking these days has just become sily. Blah blah texture like PS2 etc. A friend of mine brought over his PS2, OMG, I was shocked, seriously, loads up some old games and check it out before saying such dumb things. I'm not a particular huge fan of Fable, but I took one look at pics and went, not bad looks nice, clever artwork..thats it. WTF talking about zoomed up times 3 or 4 times looking at rifle, talking about speckles...yes speckles being too bright. Seriously if tiny things like this worry people, maybe they should get checked out for OCD or somethinghywel69
I think you're nitpicking over things like jaggies and textures. They will look fine when you're actually playing the game.
The bloom, on the other hand, is flipping ridiculous and really needs to be removed before the game releases. I don't mind bloom that much but why use it on so few objects?
Maybe if you did not in battle pics, that EVERYONE knows look colorless and have different lighting due to the dram they want to give, would look like the below pics
FORESTS http://img79.imageshack.us/img79/734/new11tf0.jpgI can find FAR worst pics from Crysis, han this unfinished in combat Fable 2 screen you knowsaolin323except that all official direct-feed screens released recently from Fable2 look like that, just take a look at official site, each and every screen there looks like that. And yu can twist all you want, but Fable2 characters look like something out of PS2, Crysis ones make them look like a joke. You like to use the term "two generations behind"...well... Fable2 characters actualy do look like they are two gens behind Crysis ones :D
sheesh... how retarded does SW threads get?
Its the art-style they use, the same goes for MGS "green tint".

Of course you can, it's called dropping all the settings in Crysis to low at a rez of 800x600 and taking a pic. I dare you to go find a poor looking Crysis pic with the settings on very high at a rez of at least 1680x1050. And it has to be a normal looking pic, no looking at the ground, or a screen filled with a tree trunk or anything like that. And don't say nobody plays at those settings, cause it is possible to with SLI or Tri SLI (in fact I think you can play at 1920x1080 with tri sli).
Fable has character but its certainly a not a very technically strong game.skrat_01
Well it is stronger than ANY game bar Crysis, that is enough for me, and is really close to Crysis in most ways, bar the scale of the world
The lighting, saahdows, detail, foliage as every bit as good though

No its not stronger techincally than ANY game bar Crysis. Take the fanboy goggles off, its not an impressive techical game. Its major merits is that it has its own art st-yle, personality and character.

So, you know MANY games coming that have:
- shadows from each tree leaf, and a host of 120.000 leaf trees around in thick forests ????
- full grass covered ground, with a 3D shader applied on the soil, and shadows cast on the grass in an amazing Crysis like way
- light beams filtered real time through foliage, like only Crysis does
- fully dynamic day/night changes, with shadows and light beams calculated on the fly as the sun moves, Crysis like
- huge scale with all the above
So ? I can think of Alan Wake and Far Cry 2, that is all there is close, and frankly those games look barren comparing to Fable 2 thick forests
Saolin, The rule of thumb is, a great RPG(not good, great) needs to have a great storyline. Judging from the first Fable, I think Fable 2 story would be ..non-existent.hamidiousActually there WAS a story, and was great, just short It is like Zelda, you can't put down zelda minimal story, it was great Same for the 10 hours main story of Oblivion, RPG's are NOT only about story BTW i though games was mostly about gameplay, and not a story, right ? Read a good book, trust me, your needs for a good story will never be the same, you may never play a game a well ever again, if a good story is ALL you are looking forward
