Nope, the lists are from 360 released ( first console of each genration ) . and the scores still look like that, its prefectly fair.

PC beat out the PS2 last generation too with this same method, though it was pretty close.

Two on PS1, one on Dreamcast, one on N64 (re-released on the Wii and was 8.9 in the review), one on PS2, and one that is a multi-plat between PS3 and 360.

To play all those, you would need 3 different consoles AT THE LEAST. And seeing how the 360 version of GTAIV is the definitive version, that means it's more optimum to have 4 different consoles.

This is the same stupid shtick of 'let's combine all the platforms and see how it outdoes the PC, hoping that the Hermits don't notice the glaring fallacy!'

AAAA score doesn't matter. PC games prove their greatness through the test of time. Just look at any Top 100 list, or even GameSpot's own "Greatest Games of All Time" list, and tell me what platform has the most titles on those lists.

Whats immature about it? for starters, System Requirements alone make PC game reviews harsher, let alone saturation in certain genres. Its not proven to be wrong either.

Why do you allow GameSpot to decide what the best games are. It's what your personal preference. The GameSpot reviewers are paid to play games and rate them based on their own opinions, not yours. Anyway, user scores are almost always a little higher than the gamespot scores.StealthPlatypus

Meanwhile, the only AAAA game to make it to GameSpot's "Greatest Games of All Time" list is Ocarina of Time, the ORIGINAL AAAA. GTAIV might make it in the future, but NONE of the other AAAA games are on that list. Not Chrono Cross and not Soul Calibur and certainly not Tony Hawk.

Sorry, but that's the assumption. This isn't about "What if" and "What could be". This is about "What IS." And the truth is, some of the greatest games in PC history, the games against which PC games in those genres are measured, received only average reviews, but later proved their true greatness through the test of time.

The fact that so many PC games released from 1994 to 2000 are on that list, while so few console games are on that list, pretty much proves (as much as something like this can be proven) that the PC has a much stronger legacy to which it can compare its current state. And the fact that so many of those 1994-2000 era games scored so low FURTHER proves that PC games are held to a higher standard, because THAT is how much they have to achieve even to just reach AA scores.

Um..

Games such as Soul Calibur and THPS3 are considerd trash today.... More or less.. (Chrono cross and Oot are still pretty good though but especially Oot hasn't aged all that well)

Games such as Pirates, Myst, Starcraft, Half Life, Monkey Island, Grim fandango, Civilization 2 etc... are still freakin awesome..

1. PC games have proven too stand the test of time better then console games in most cases..

2. Look at oblivion, got a better score for xbox360, yet its way better on PC for obvious reasons.

Who cares about ratings? They are just someone's opinion (yeah, an "opinion", which often depends ONLY on how much hype the game gets.)

And *MOST* PC gamers tend to have higher standards, especially the ones that have been gaming for a long time. How could I be impressed from games like Bioshock (just an example), when I have played FAR BETTER games almost a decade ago?
