Fanboys, how has brand loyalty rewarded you?

Yes it's ghastly. But what can we do? All the logic in the world is ineffective against blind, agenda driven fanboys. 

I knew not what peace and harmony truely was until Sony and Heil showed me the way. Live, Love, Learn. The Kaz way.

I'm not a PC gamer solely by choice. It just happens to be the cheapest option.

However, I would say that my near-PC-exclusivity has rewarded me because there is such an insane amount of stuff to actually discover on the PC. Thousands of games, thousands of mods, a 30 year backlog, tons of communities, etc etc etc.

I doubt I'd have ever scratched the surface of PC gaming if it weren't for the fact that it's the only gaming system I can really afford :P

I'm more than willing to get other systems if I can ever afford them though. Right now the Xbox One, and the 3DS are at the top of my list.

I've mostly owned only sony consoles but I wouldn't say I have brand loyalty. If there were a few games on another console that I wanted to play sure I would pick up that console. If FFXV, Kingdom Hearts 3, and ND games were exclusive to Xbox or wii I'd pick up one of those consoles right away but if only one of them were exclusive I wouldn't pick it up. So only owning Sony consoles has been more than enough for the games that I like to play. I do like Theaterythm for 3DS but I didn't like Dream Drop Distance So I almost wanted to buy a 3DS but oh well.

Oddly enough I was on board for MS' always online console since I download most of my games from PSN anyways. TitanFall looks great and I like that it is focusing only on multiplayer,...similar to Warhawk which I still have fun playing even today due to 4-player splitscreen.

I think more than anything, its just a way to justify their position.  Cant afford more than one platform?  Don't understand a platform?  Trash the hell out of it.  Try your best to pretend you aren't missing out.

If these fanboys truly didn't care about what other platforms have to offer then they wouldn't obsessively talk trash every chance they get.

I'm not a PC-only gamer, but gaming mostly on the PC platform gave me an incredible insight on freedom of choice. There is no such thing which will tell you what you can or can't do, except in the case when the game simply doesn't appear on the PC, but even that in some cases didn't stop incredibly dedicated PC community to make the game possible on the PC, as in the case of Vice City Stories.

Also, if you want to play top of the line PC exclusive and multi-platform titles, there's always Steam with its ridiculous sales. If you want to play the oldest classics, there is always GOG. If the developer stopped supporting their game, again, there is community to make unofficial patches, as in the case of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. Such things are simply not possible or not common on consoles.

Hmmm, not really what I was getting at.  Of course we all have interests outside of gaming.. or at least most of us.  I really dont know what that has to do with what I said.

I really see no reason to obsessively bash other platforms.  If I really don't care about something then I wont go out of my way to talk about it on a regular basis.

For example, I don't care for the 360 at all.  Guess what?  You'll never find a topic I made that is anti-360.  I'm not even sure if I've made a single negative post about the system.  Because I truly don't care.

Now if there is a great opportunity to bash some platform for the lulz, then cool.  But these guys that make anti (insert platform) topic daily and show up in every thread regarding a certain platform just to spew the same tired hateful comments?  Yeah, I'd say they're trying to justify something.  They obviously care or they wouldn't invest ridiculous amounts of time talking about said platforms that they supposedly don't like.

Sony allows me to only own one console and have access to tons of diverse exclusive. Since they have provided me with thousands of hours of entertainment over the past 15 years, I don't see a problem of being a fan of them.

The ps3 is the first console i bought this gen and yeah i guess it has rewarded me. More exclusives, and not the same old thing milked over and over again. Sony have done a great job this gen.joel_c17

i preordered a ps4 even when i knew that it was going to be the weakest console with the least games. that's when i realized how much of a sony fanboy i've become. so, i turned my perspective around and preordered the Microsoft Xbox One instead. it's really a relief when you can say goodbye to fanboyism. :)
