Thank you. I read how the liberals are the snowflakes and take offense so quickly. I see quite a few anti SJW and complaints about liberal message in a thread about a game that has shown one image so far. Talk about being a snowflake. Bunch of butthurt finger pointing.

A game doesn't have to be groundbreaking to be worth playing though. Do you only play games that are groundbreaking?

Yep, another example is when they called for Stephen Colbert to be fired over an insult he threw at their two god-heroes in the US and Russia. Yet, they'd give a pass to someone like Milo for the shit he says.

I don't think it would bother me if I have to mow down cultists and militias. They look similar enough to the mercs in Far Cry 3.

If you want to model people in a Far Cry game, it's all been done unless you want to see characters with oversized heads and little piddly arms/legs.

Far cry 5, may be fantastic! I'd love to hear more about it, but from the one picture (which admittedly doesn't let on much other than locale and antagonist) it looks like they're moving in a similar direction from the last couple games (something UBIsoft prides themselves on) and if it does, I say, "meh, doesn't look groundbreaking" and thus I may play it when it costs 20 bucks.

I work and raise a family brah, being lost in 40 hour games doing the same shit I did last year, which is the theme of the past 15 years of gaming history in big budget games is getting old.

So is any game that features people generic. Or is this just another lazy generic criticism.

I'm not making any judgements on a game based on a handful of screen shots. I will wait until I see more of the game before I make my mind up. But I liked the previous Far Cry games so there is a good chance I will like this. Solid shooters especially on the PC.

Guess that why it worth waiting to see as opposed to just dismissing it as 'it looks generic because it's got people in it'. Fingers crossed it's a goody!

It looks generic in the sense of same old far cry with a new skin. I stopped playing far cry when they stop having that monster adrenaline mode from far cry 2. I thought that was the whole premise of the series turning into a superhuman.

Most sequels look similar to the other games in the series. Was Dark Souls 3 generic because it looked like DS1 but with a new skin. Or is that just lazy reductive way of looking at the dark souls series.

@boycie: dark souls has looked the same through out the series. Ubisoft is known to make generic games with new skins. Far cry 5 looks interesting nonetheless.

But nobody has commit money to this game yet. Its the people getting all butthurt over SJW, because this time we may be shooting white people in the game. The last two we shot at mostly brown people. I guess that's not a problem for some people and if it is a problem for some, say because they do have an Indian accent, then they are being "Snowflakes".

Again nobody has said to Ubi its ok to keep doing what you claim. Posting here isnt going to change that. I doubt Ubisoft is patrolling this forum to guage interest in FC5. It looks like a great setting to do Far Cry things in. These games are meant to be in spots with more nature than civilization, and Montana will have plenty of great nature to exploit. There will be rivers, lakes, mountains, etc.

Do you really need to have it take place someplace "exotic"? To me, the islander stuff in FC3 and the Nepalese stuff in FC4 was just window dressing.

Most of all, we're talking about a new gen of Far Cry. So we're talking not just better visuals, but maybe a bigger map, better AI, and better detail in general. Yes, there was FC:Primal but FC will likely be a step up from that, and imo being closer to that winning formula from FC3 will help

What on earth is pro corporate about me sticking up for every person having the right to like and buy what they wish? I never bought FC4. I borrowed it, played a few hours and said nah. Been there, done that. But my friend really enjoyed it. Why should I come here and shit on this game, which is only a picture for Kaz' sake at this point? Even if it does turn out to be more FC3 with a new setting and characters, who am I or who are you to tell people that like those they are "a problem?" Far Cry right now, to me at least, is suffering from Jungle Tropical fatigue. I never bothered with Primal.

Yes. But they were so structured exactly alike. I played 4 for a few hours and gave it back to my neighbor. It wasn't necessarily a bad game. It just didn't interest me. I never played primal because I didn't want to.

Far Cry 4 was more like an alpine setting. It had deciduous trees in the valleys, conifers on the slopes and there is a tree line above which is nothing but snow. Other Asian countries have similar alpine settings; Japan and Korea for example.

There was one poster here who said Far Cry 4 reminded him of parts of Oregon. Of course, I know what he's talking about, having been to that state.
