Alright, ONLY warning:
If this for whatever reason turns into a dumb political/religious discussion this WILL END IN BANS.
That is all.
looks way better than primal, that's for sure. and a bit better than far cry 4.
this might be ubisofts chance to make another far cry 3 in terms of enjoyment
All I'm hoping for is that it doesn't play the exact same as the previous ones. Far Cry primal may have had an insanely different setting, it still managed to play the exact same :(
Not too say Primal didn't have some interesting ideas, I just want Ubisoft to make the driving and shooting the best it can. I hope they let us explore the world... instead of overloading us with HUD elements and showing us where everything is by climbing a tower on the map.
Oh and the flying, I hope that is fun as heck !

Ironic the airplane itself doesn't have a HUD. But, I don't mind the inclusion of training wheels so long as I can disable them in the Options Menu a la Far Cry 4.
Looks like a great setting if I'm honest.
Still I would've liked a first person Wild West game ^^
I agree.
Techland should announce Call of juarez gunslinger 2 to be much bigger.

Good call

None of their screenshots show a HUD, but there'll definitely be one.
Ubisoft just likes to overload their games with HUDs and I think it has to stop. I don't need both a mini map and a 3D objective marker, I don't like enemy outlines, etc...
If they can keep the HUD as minimal as possible I'll be a glad man.
I agree.

I would be down for another Gunslinger; But it doesn't have to be open world per se. A linear game can be a good game :)

Linear game with big maps and horse riding would be great.
I dont want complete open world.

Where does talking about the setting and the plot fit into that? The game was made, according to the games producer Dan Hay, in response to the political and religious movements of the past year/year and a half.
I gotta admit, that trailer looked pretty amazing. I wanna play in that world and interact with those characters. Also in terms of civil engineering and geographical design, it looks like it may very well have some of the most well designed rural American environments since GTA V. Very impressive.
The last Far Cry game I played was Far Cry 3. Some of the changes may be interesting. At the very least, co-op might be decent way to pass some time, assuming someone else picks this up, followed by a sale. But I am still somewhat skeptical, Ubisoft games are fat bitches. And I am not willing to bet this one isnt that just yet.

Thanks.
I come to SW to discuss games.

There is discussing the theme, cordially, and there is turning this into a shitshow about politics and/or religion like we're seeing on the comments for the articles about this game. Much like there, that sort of nonsense will only lead to a ban.
Remember System Wars is about games and console systems, first and foremost. While some exceptions are tolerated (keyword here) they're still not really well placed on this particular board. There are boards on this very site that people can use for that of discussion if they really want to have it on a gaming site.
The game sounds more like a Red State party to me where it's the right vs the extreme right. None of the Resistance are what I would consider as being in the blue camp.
Fine with me so long as I can run up the body count and dogfight. I am disturbed by the lack of Native Americans being mentioned. It would be downright silly to not have Native Americans in the game, especially Montana. It wouldn't be Big Sky country without them around....or, since Ubisoft Montreal is Canadian..... Perhaps, they have their own political controversies they're not telling us with regard to Native Americans. ;)
The game has nothing but one image. How are you concluding an entire portrayal of the country?
I know.
I guess said image hit close to home for you?
No. Any other assumptions you'd like to make about me...
You have a crush on my father?
I wouldn't waste my seed on someone like that.
To digress. I'd love if the Far Cry Instincts series continued. Just started playing Far Cry Instincts Predator, so much fun.
A game based in ´murica that isn't LA or New York? Interested to see more. Montana is the lost state you never hear of.
One black dude in the trailer?
Two. One is the pastor, Jerome. The other is a cult member.
Make that 3. The third one is a black female resistance member. It's strange that there are three African-Americans already seen in the trailer. Yet, there's not one Native-American mentioned. What's going on here?
American setting could be cool, but I'm expecting the story to have all the subtlety of a sledgehammer to the gonads.

Been playing the original PC Far Cry myself.
Why does he look out of place? And why would the setting require native Americans? Methinks you guys watch too much tv.
The Native American tribes in Montana are the biggest minority group there. My cousins (and now, nieces and nephews) attended the University of Nevada, Reno and they often attended Big Sky Conference away games in Montana. I sometimes traveled with them. I'm far more likely to encounter Native-Americans than African-Americans out in the sticks.
@jun_aka_pekto:"What's going on here?"
I haven't done my research on the atmosphere/culture Ubisoft is trying to create, but the black pastor looked out of place.
And you mentioning no native Americans is even more odd.
Seems like Ubisoft transplanted a Justified-like setting from the South directly to Montana. At least, Justified had featured at least one (huge, big guy) Cherokee in addition to African-Americans.
@metalslimenite:
"Why does he look out of place?"
A black pastor in a all white(assuming) rural setting.
"And why would the setting require native Americans?"
Somebody mentioned Montana has a heavy Native American presence.
"Methinks you guys watch too much tv."
I just watch sports.
Could be an interesting concept, but I have no faith Ubisoft will execute it well.
Getting some vibes here that I like though.
Since when did escaping/killing cultists/crazy survivalists in a video game become "SJW" and a "liberal agenda" SMH. Quick take offense about everything people! #snowflaking
Appearantly everything comes with an agenda these days. People are just looking to get offended.
Not sure if you're being dense on purpose, don't know what a SJW is, or if you're just generally ignorant to politics in general (no big deal it's a game forum) but a game about killing right-wing Christians has always been the dream of SJW's. That's why we see SJW's on the streets attacking Trump supporters.
They might as well just throw in a DLC where you assassinate Donald Trump, that's how little they're trying to hide it. You guys should try going to college and taking some literary and film classes. They have some great classes that teach you how to dissect and analyze movies and books so you can see themes and intentions from the creator.
This game really seems to have triggered you. Just don't buy it if you are offended so much.
That last bit isn't true at all.
In Montana? Sure it is. I might see a good number of African-Americans at Malmstrom AFB at Great Falls. I went TDY there once. But, that hardly qualifies as living in the sticks. Plus, most of them wish to be transferred elsewhere.
