Feburary NPD Prediction thread (ps4 wins!!!!)

if x1 sells 130k its a wiiu level disaster. i dont think they would even wait till e3 before dropping the price

Expecting Xbox One to be very low, something must have gone off for Microsoft to push that bundle out so fast.

My NPD prediction is this...

The NPD thread will not make it past the first page without a Lem proclaiming that March's NPD matters way more.

The xbox one finaly came out couple of day's ago here. And the surrounding countries. It will sell now more.

My guess is :

PS4: 180 k

Xbox One: 100 K

I think PS4 will still be on top. Even with Titanfall bundle for xbox one, PS4 being at a lower price point will trump the xbox one. I just think the titanfall bundle will be miniscule since your still shelling out 500. Software wise I bet microsoft got a huge jump but xbox one sales will probably be low.

It wont matter more. You however cant deny that it will be interesting to see what Titanfall will do for the xbox one.

The march NDP thread is going to be a mess no matter what the results will be. That's a prediction you can rely on.

yea i dont think titanfall would be sustainable since its mp only game but i think it will sell at least 3-5mil on the bone in a year

whats been going on soo far that would lead you to believe that titanfall isnt selling xbox1? i havent seen anything other than tormentos posting gamestop top 10 products list

its not just gamestop though. initially i thought the game would sell really well but here in amazon uk ps4 console has sold more this month than titanfall game and console bundle. its a similar story in us, the ps4 is outselling the bundle accross all major websites. i still think the game will sell well (m$ hasnt announced any day 1 sales yet so i doubt it was amazing figures) but no where near m$ expectation.

people keep thinking ea got screwed but what about m$? they put a sh$t load of marketing behind this game and paid alot of money to keep it off sony consoles so if the x1 still doesnt pick up steam they will have to cut the price and believe me they dont want to do that this early but they will have to. i said it months ago and i wil say it again, dont be surprised if infamous out sells titanfall x1 version.

EA and Respawn didn't get screwed.

If titanfall was on the playstation platform, no one would be hyping it, because it's one of the worst FPS games to have come out this gen. It makes KIllzone look as good as Halo: CE.

It's because it's only on the Xbox and PC that it's selling somewhat decently.

@chikenfriedrice: So far PS4 is stomping Xflop in March if Gamestop and Amazon sales are good indicators.

quad will probably win this month....next month(march) will be much more interesting due to titanfall.

im not sure about that. the amount of hate it got is enough of a hype. its like saying ac games arent hyped but yet sell more than 5+ million copies or cod is not hyped.

and one of the worst games to have come out this gen....in 5 months....k seems legit.

@Shewgenja: PS4 is gonna win March too. Titanfall is selling, but it isn't pushing Xbone ahead of PS4 at the major retailers.

I'm so ready for this. Everyone should have the gaf thread on another tab too when it drops. Their NPD threads are amazing, although March will be a bit more exciting. PS4 winning all the time is getting predictable lol.

I find that hoping for big software bumps is a reliance on anomaly as opposed to trend. Judging how big of a bump can be created, however, is useful information.

Well you wouldn't see any Titanfall sales in Feb sales figures anyways. You won't see that until March's NPD report. I don't have any idea what the sales will be like. With the lack of games being released for next-gen consoles and shortages for the PS4 every other week, don't know how this will turn out. At least we have South Park, Titanfall & Dark Souls 2 to play now.

You won't see Titanfall sales at all in this Feb NPD. Titanfall went on sale March 11. You won't even see SouthPark sales which was Mar 4th.

I'm aware. But like I said to the other person who replied similar, knowing it's out next month should have generated hype anyway and a great influx of Xbone sales regardless it coming out in march. People don't wait around if they want something.

If they are excited for Titanfall, they would just get the bundle and not buy an XB1 in advance of Titanfall bundle. That's just stupid. Smart gamers would just wait for the bundle and get the FREE Titanfall game with it. A Titanfall bundle was rumored over 2 months ago.

Are we assuming every gamer is a smart gamer here? lol. Not everyone will believe a rumoured bundle. If they know Titanfall is coming out in March and need an Xbone to play it(which technically they don't) then they will pick one up in feb if the game comes out in march. If they miss out on the bundle the so be it, that's on them. February should mark the start of a high increase in Xbone sales, especially with a high profile game dropping the month after.

I don't think so. Anyone who is getting an XB1 to play Titanfall isn't going to buy a system weeks in advance to play nothing on it. lol!! I know I wouldn't. If a gamer is interested in other XB1 games as well, sure they might get the system in advance if they aren't aware of the bundle, but anyone just thinking about TF itself will definitely wait, especially since there aren't any shortages of XB1. Many retailer would definitely be telling consumers about the Titanfall bundle. Whatever increase you're thinking of wouldn't be anywhere as large as the bundled sales increase. There's no doubt March sales will be greater then February's mostly do to the Titanfall bundle. I know how these trends work. Been following them for over 15yrs.

Thats irrelevant. Only next month NPD will count as it was the release month and the hype surrounding the game is at its pike. Nevermind the people that were wainting for reviews to buy Titanfall. Since the game was well received I bet TitanFall will push some consoles. If it'll be enough to surpass the PS4 is what I want to see. However, only the next month NPD will give me that information.

I still think that as the release date closes in for a high profile game even from a month out people will definitely be thinking about getting the system, bundle or not. People like to be prepared. It's not like they're buying it JUST for that either, they could buy other things to pass the time, like any of the other launch games. Very plausible. January maybe not..well as we saw anyway. But February the month before the month of Titanfall I expect them to be much higher. Not groundbreaking but a steep increase. March will be bigger I agree but Feb should be bigger than January, no excuses. If MS did their marketing right then Feb shouldn't be as bad as Jan, and that will be because of Titanfall.

I don't think so. We'll see. lol!! It'll probably be close to Jan sales I bet. Maybe slightly lower. Same with the PS4.

This helped sales of Wii U hardware increase by nearly 25 percent over the same month last year.

In early 2013, Fire Emblem Awakening launched for Nintendo 3DS and became one of the surprise hits of the year. Bravely Default, which launched for Nintendo 3DS on Feb. 7, improved on the launch of Fire Emblem Awakening by more than 10 percent, selling more than 200,000 combined units in just over three weeks.

Other sales milestones achieved by Nintendo in February include:

Bravely Default and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze finished as the No. 2 and No. 4 best-selling software SKUs for the month of February.

Bravely Default was the #2 game on the charts this month. Donkey Kong was #4. Amazing performance on both fronts, really.
