@lundy86_4: lets say m$ has a bad first year, how will m$ respond? with a price cut. will the price cut help them in europe and japan (2 regions ps3 released 1 year later and still dominated) no way. will a price cut help m$ dominate sony in uk and us? no way, with a price cut they can gain parity or maybe even a slight lead but dominate no way.

the situation looks dire for m$. at best they can gain sales parity in us and uk and get dominated everywhere else. but even with parity in those 2 regions ps4 will dominate the gen easily, maybe by around 20m+

No is not speculation the PS4 is badly outselling the xbox one in EU,he PS4 has 6 million units as march 2,like 400k are from Japan,2.5 million are from US,the other 3 million mostly in EU.

Compare that to MS which has like 1.2 million outside US.

Amazon just got a new batch of PS4's in today. Yesterday Titanfall XB1 was #1 and Titanfall PC was #2 on the list. The Titanfall bundle was at #6. It had started as low as 20. The PS4 was at #9 position until the PS4 came in today.

Did the DC came back after been outsold.?Did the N64 came back after been outsold.?

You need something to equalize and you don't have it,basically your argument is base on a miracle happening that will turn things over,the PS3 since it launch even at higher price it started outselling the xbox 360 right away,the only place this didn't happen was on US and UK,the rest was sony all the way.

1 Sony has the cheaper unit.

2 Sony is controlling all the markets as of now.

3 There is no sign of things changing they both started at the same time and 1 is clearly ahead and still winning.

Im an xbox fan, and to be honest I have to agree. It does not look good for them this Gen...a least on the hardware sales side.

I think MS has a better business model then Sony. In other words in the business of "gaming platform" I think they make more money. XBL goods and services, movies, apps, gold memberships, etc last gen was netting them an "EXTRA" billion dollars a year. This was revenue outside of actual gaming software sales.

Sony took note, hence the $50 a year subscription this gen. for PSN. That being said I agree that no matter how you slice it, I cant see them ever getting out of this hardware deficit. X1 is too expensive and whats more, even at price parity the perceived stronger console is the Ps4. (perceived by the public)

I really think MS overestimated their brand recognition this gen...similar to Sony with the ps3. $500 with no perceived advantages to average consumer is killing them right now. I don't see what moves they can make at this point. They are smart though so I wont write them off completely yet.

Fact is, Microsoft screwed themselves early by not addressing the DRM rumors during E3 and simply announcing a price. Meanwhile, 360 owners were thinking "forget this crap", because guys like Matt Booty and Don Mattrick didn't make anything any better with their attitudes of just "force it on the consumer". There's not a game coming to PS4 that rivals what Microsoft announced thus far or are bound to announce at E3.

Of course, selling a console at 500 dollars when only a select few games use it's power isn't exactly the best marketing.

Xbone still couldn't outsell a heavily supply constrained PS4 with Titanfall around the corner. March NPD will be a lemming slaughter with the huge PS4 supply in March, SDC.

Relatively safe, yet, so was the 360 beating the PS3 in the last generation.

There was a distinct separation. Many expected the 360 to sell throughout it's lifespan, especially because it was ahead for much of last generation.

No dude the xbox 360 had a 1 year head start and a up to $300 dollars price advantage. 8 million or 9 million units vs 0 PS3,from 2006 sony was able to close that gap and basically end tied with MS,because MS presence in Japan is basically null,and in EU the PS3 was able to dominate in mainland EU which >>> UK.

If MS would have do at least close to the PS3 in Japan they would still be ahead now by several millions.

Funny because i saw the titanfall bundle been ahead a few hours ago,and as soon as those units came in the PS4 sky rocket to number 1 again.

What does that tell you.?

1-First the PS4 still is supply constrained.

2- Like i say a few days ago even that amazon pre sell you the units when there are non,most people are not jumping on it because is safer to have the money on hand ready for the first store to get them.

They just got a batch of PS4's in today. So of course it jumped to #1. It wasn't at #1 yesterday. Titanfall for in the #1 & #2 spots. TheTitanfall bundle was #6. My point is that the Titanfall game and bundles are still selling very well and not performing badly as ReadingBoy thinks. Doesn't really have anything to do with the Ps4.

There's a higher power in the works here. PS4 is destined for 1st place. Sony always wins.

It was a running theme last gen, most people even unbiased thought ps3 will be too strong. I was not one of them, my predictions are generally ok. M$ are out of the war, no way they make a comeback

I see no evidence of this on GAF. Most people there believe PS4 will dominate March especially now that the PS4 is no longer supply constrained by the Japanese launch like in Feb.
