FF13 just owned every other game till this day.

My main problem with JRPGs is I can never connect with any of the characters while I am playing. It might be a partially a cultural thing, but I always like I have a better understanding of my character in games like Mass Effect,Fallout 3,Dragon Age:Origins,etc. The thing I really liked about Mass Effect was my character felt uniquely close to my idea of a hero/anti-hero in an RPG.

I'll probably give this one a try though....The only one I've ever played was X and I gave up finishing that.

Methinks a restraining order with SE is due. If one hasn't already been filed, of course. :?

When Final Fantasy XII failed to deliver in terms of storyline, it was shunned by the majority of fans. So no, if Final Fantasy XIII is truly bad it will not be simply gobbled up by fans.

Again. There's a difference between an opinion and a claim about a game that you clearly know nothing about. I you can't stand behind your original claims and say "no, the gameplay isn't any special because it's exactly like FFIV" or "Gameplay will only constitute 10% of Final Fantasy XIII." You'd be wrong, but at least be willing to stand behind your blind statements.

If you wanted to go in this thread and say "I'm not interested" you could have, but instead you decided to make overt claims about the game itself.

I don't care if you're not interested in FFXIII and I don't care if FFXIII is the least popular game on the planet. But I do find it irritating when Final Fantasy is hated on because of it's commitment to excellence.

Yes, let's go back to XII and have a Final Fantasy where nothing dramatic happens, nothing is at stake, none of the characters undergo personal growth.

Because drama, by definition, is bad right? Shame on Square for making a game where the characters are in a struggle. :roll:

Edit: This was assuming you were complaining about the "sappy" drama. If you're complaining about the "pop" music in the trailer, you'd love Persona. Of course, Persona isn't considered to be "popular" enough to hate on.

Persona is actually starting to gain the same annoying fanbase that's kind of making me ashamed to like Shin Megami Tensei.Much like the all the annoying Cloud Strife and Sephiroth fanboys make me ashamed to like Final Fantasy.

Uh, no, not even close. Xenogears had better gameplay and storytelling than all of the PS1 FF RPGs. Xenosaga had better storytelling (not nearly as much as Xenogears though) and better gameplay than the PS2 FF games.

Which is why the developers are incorporating aspects of the latter two Xenosaga games into Final Fantasy XIII's gameplay.

I am excited and nervous at the same time. I love Final Fantasy but I still ain't a huge fan of the new direction they went with after 10.

WTH was that? i had to force my self to watch half of it, take a half an hour break cause i couldnt stand it and force myself to watch the second half which was even worse than the first if that is possible. just terrible. not my kind of thing i suppose...
