really? this has just been posted on kotaku an hour ago. i thought they were aiming for 2 discs. oh well.
[QUOTE="xsubtownerx"]Old. But that's ok. Lost Odyssey was 4 discs which makes me wonder if FFXIII is a short game..NAPK1NSNever judge a game's length just on the number of disks it comes with. There's a lot more to it then that. Well obviously. But it's been said that FFXIII is CGI heavy. Lost Odyssey wasn't, yet had 4 discs. I'm just a little worried is all.
Cool, it's 1 disc on the PS3. :)as noted by Gamefly

FF13 is said to have rather extensive end game content, and be a good forty hour or so game on first play through.ViewtifulScottIf that's the case then I am assuming that the cutscenes take up a big bulk of space.
"Oh noez, lemmngz haev 2 swap disc 3 timez lol, ps3 versoin ftw!!!11!"
Edit: I typed a whole last part of that post indicating it was sarcasm but when I posted it was deleted. :| Anyway, I was just impersonating the eventual cows that will use this as some kind of ownage, and being sarcastic.

of course it's troublesome. imagine having to change cartridges in the 16-bit era. uh-oh. heck, even PC games (which are in DVD) don't need to swap discs. Neverwinter Nights had 3 discs but yo jsut install them and then that's it.

3 disc swaps throughout a game that lasts 40+ hours is not much, mate.[QUOTE="enterawesome"]"Oh noez, lemmngz haev 2 swap disc 3 timez lol, ps3 versoin ftw!!!11!" roddollente

if anything , it'll provide a dose of nostalgia from playing the ps1 final fantasy's360:
Hold it, Lemmings. Time to change the disc. I know. I know. It's a pain. But you need to swap disc 1 for disc 2. You see the disc labeled 2?
PS3:
Oh, wait! We're on Playstation 3! It's a Blu-Ray Disc. No need to swap.

My God, you're right. We'll actually have to get up and move for like, a whole minute. How horrible. Major fail M$.That wasn't funny or witty.360:

Cows seem to forget that they have to swap discs back in the PS1/PS2 days.
PC games also uses DVD's. Should they need Blu-Ray for games as well?

What about installs, which might i add defeat the purpose of consoles:?[QUOTE="WinnerByTKO"]That wasn't funny or witty. Relax, he was quoting MGS4. :P (Minus the lemmings part)360:

As I thought, lemmings didn't get my joke.
That is because you haven't been blessed with MGS4. If you woulde have played the game, you would have understood that part.
Anyway I'm a hermit so calling me a cow is making me lol.
If its too many, its ownage, if its ownage, its ownage. Theres no winning with these guys:PSo much for that "FFXIII on 10-20" discs eh?;)
I saw a pic of that, I was like .

This is a new article, stop crying old...allsystemsphaiIt's not the article that's old. It's the 3 discs thing that's been known for quite some time now.

LOL, so true. If the PS3 wasn't at the 360's level, they'll still claim gameplay>>>>graphics. But now that it is, they go & do a 180. Gotta love hypocrisy.
[QUOTE="ViewtifulScott"][QUOTE="WinnerByTKO"]That wasn't funny or witty. Relax, he was quoting MGS4. :P (Minus the lemmings part) Except that MGS4 had you stopping after each act to force an install on you that turned out to be longer than actually swapping a disc. Oh teh lulz! :P360:

Nice sig, love the supra from fast and furious :)have you ever heard of compression? its been around for years. a 20GB game that uses compression can fit onto an 8 GB disc

Is there a mandatory install for the PS3 version?Stevo_the_gamer
Nope!.. SE said no install for ps3.. im so getting this for PS3 8)
Just looked it up the PS3 version has no hard drive installation support. This means the 360 version would have faster load times, less graphical bugs or slow downs. Source
zaku101
Just read your whole source its running very smooth PS3 games doesnt need install look at uncharted 2 and they said FFXIII Japanese version got nearly no loading times.
