So which version will you get? I'm thinking 360. I wasn't even thinking about getting it before I heard about it's multiplat-ness, even though I have a PS3 :/ Is that weird?

I've got to believe Sony will soon announce the copycatting :P of games to HDD direct play which makes for now, the 360 version far superior.
Of course IMHO.

For 360, the game will not exceed 15-20 gigs - 10-12 gigs for MGS4 :P99% sure.
[QUOTE="silverammo"]im getting it for ps3 i dont want no f***** 6 dvds
blitzkid1
i happy i dont have to do install times.
And what makes you think FF13 will have installs? ;)
PS3. Mainly because of the controller and improved visuals.ChrnoTrigger
where did you see these improved visuals
Whoever got both consoles and buy this for X360 , is a traitor !! :)AzatiS
oh now you had to go and say that now Im gonna buy it for the 360 just to be a rebel

I didn't but it sounds pretty obvious. SE has a year to build the game for the 360, while they've already mastered the white engine for the PS3. They said it might not be the same quality as the PS3.
White engine currently uses 4/6 cores on the PS3. In comparison, Killzone 2 uses 4 and a half.

im happy there is so there is no loading while im playing the game . u durI'm not buying it since SE said they were going to drop the Six Axis support so 360 owners wouldn't feel left out. They took away the best part!!!
JK
Seriously I haven't liked anything SE has made since they joined but if I do get it I'll get the PS3 version. Getting the 360 version would be a problem considering I don't own a 360 :P

white Enginge ? whats that? Oh you man crystal tools a multiplatform engine . Well Square said there wont be any diffrences between the versions.
Doesn't matter. Still deciding though. Getting my 360 soon.
Neither will have trophies/acheivements. No downloadable content. The main thing they are doing is trying to cut down on the time it takes to get the game to the U.S. and Europe.
I guess so far its PS3 though. Its the platform that has been the used for the main development. Don'r care about the install if there is one.
I hope theres a limited collectors addition though.
I'm getting it on the 360 cuz thats all I have and I love FF games. Even if I had a PS3, I would get it on the 360 tho cuz of its better graphics and xbox live.8)

From my understanding the main platform it has been in development for is the PC.....actually that's the only working code right now from what I've read.
Well FF13 has been in development for PS3 for 2 years, obviously PS3 is the lead platform and the game is being built ground up on PS3 then ported to 360. PS3 version ofcourse, the game isn't due out till 2010 though :(Swift_Boss_AI thought it was due this year in Japan. Did that change?
Poll Choice #1: PS3, where Final Fantasy belongs.
Do people not realize that Final Fantasy started out on the NES and SNES systems? It wasn't even Sony's to begin with. Why all this debate when it was neither Sony's nor Microsoft's.

Apparently the only thing that is being ported is the PC code to PS3 and X360..........if anything it's the PC crowd that should be laughing at everyone.
I think most people know it started on NES and SNES, but a main series FF game hasn't released on a Nintendo console since before 6 I think. What was the last one before the series went to PS?Poll Choice #1: PS3, where Final Fantasy belongs.

The research came from the PS3 because it was so hard the develop for. They wanted to create it for future PS3 games and in the end they decided to finish development with the PC. They announced it as the White enginge when it was working on the PS3, then at GDC they anounced it as "Crystal Tools". They also wanted to license it to other companies which is also why they made the switch to it being a PC based engine.

SE are only working on the Japanese version of FF13 which is due out next year. SE will start localising for European and American version of PS3 FF13 once done with Japanese version, FF13 could have arrived next year on PS3 WW but I think that because they made FF13 multiplat the PS3 version will be delayed for simultaneous release in 2010 for America and Europe. damn you MS !
[QUOTE="beast667"]huh, I would have thought PS3 would be ahead by a whole lot. Where are all the cows?blitzkid1
360 owners actually buy and play games and dont complain.
that does not make sence considering there are more 360 fams in here than ps 3 fans which were playing something or have lives.I know the point you are making, I'm just saying that you can't forget about Nintendo.
It's like the United States and Mexico fighting over Texas territory back in the 1800's, when everyone forgot that it belonged to the Native Americans first.
(poor analogy, I know)

Aww, I was thinking it was coming this year in Japan and we might get to see it next year :(http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/rpg/finalfantasy13/news.html?sid=6194175&om_act=convert&om_clk=gsupdates&tag=updates;title;1
The first query had to do with scheduling, and whether the PS3 version of the game was being delayed to accommodate the newly announced 360 version. The reply was that the PS3 version is on track to be completed as scheduled and that the 360 version will be ported from it. According to Square Enix, there should not be a delay in order to bring both versions to release.
The next question was regarding the technical limitations of DVD media as opposed to Blu-ray and how that would affect the visuals of the Xbox 360 version. The response was that while nothing has been decided yet, the plan is to optimize compression for the disc-space hogs, which are prerendered cutscenes and voice work, so the quality would not be adversely affected.
When asked why Square Enix made the decision to produce an Xbox 360 version for the Final Fantasy series, we were at first gently reminded that the massively multiplayer Final Fantasy XI made its way to the 360. So while this isn't technically the first Final Fantasy game on the system, for this installment the team wanted to make it available to as many fans as possible. They recognize that there are many fans floating around out there with interest in the game who do not own a PlayStation 3. We inquired about whether there were any tentative plans for 360 achievements for the game and received the somewhat cryptic answer that the team didn't want the gameplay experience to be noticeably different between the two versions but that there would be details where they would diverge.
I think 360 fans will be disapointed in the port.

Yeah but they left nintendo cause they still decided to go with cartridges. Can you imagine how many of those it would have took to fit final gantasy 7 on? about 30
