Final Fantasy VIII released on Japanese PSN! English hopfully soon!

During their press conference at the Tokeo Game Show, Sony revealed that Final Fantasy VIII is now available to download on the Japanese Playstation Store!. there is nothing yet as when it will be released in English but to expect it coming very soon :)

I hope they release 9 cause I kinda wana play that one more. I know you can buy the ps1 hard copy still somewhere,but I like the fact I can play my ps1 games on my psp. grinding on the train is a perfect combo.

Anyway yaaaay. Im playing it for the second time now and this means nothing to me, just the fact that its FFVIII is enough for celebration.

I hope they release 9 cause I kinda wana play that one more. I know you can buy the ps1 hard copy still somewhere,but I like the fact I can play my ps1 games on my psp. grinding on the train is a perfect combo.

I thought the draw system was a refreshing departure from the MP system. I know I'm in the minority on that one.

Glad I have the original disks, but I may still buy it to play on my PSP.

Now that FF 1,2,4,7 and 8 are on the psn store FF9 will for sure be coming but im guessing it will be released sometime in December or next year Jan

Still have my PS1 copy, so I don't need to download this. However I might try out FFIX if it comes on the PSN.

It was abit different from the usual mix. It forced you to save up your magic and only use the magic you can draw off monsters in battle.

I have the original disks too, but the 4th is badly damaged and doesnt work any more... So I might pick this up from PSN.

I wish they'd done this sooner. I just rebought and played though VIII about a month ago. As much as I love that they're doing this, the gap is ridiculous.

Either way, good thing it's up there. It's my favourite FF game.

Hopefully IX will arrive soon, because I've been meaning to play through it again.

People complain about the Draw system because they dont know how to really use the junction system properly, it is so easy to get magic and make your characters overpowered which is actually why the game is broken. If you know how to use the Junctioning properly its too easy, if you dont know how to use it you do crappy damage and the system seems dodge. honestly you can easily get your characters doing a ton of damage so easily at the start of the game. Draw many sleeps from grats in the training area. Junction sleep to STAT ATT-J. Kill Dinosaurs. Get many Dino bones. Get diablos from the lamp. Use time magic refine > Quake, Junction 100 Quake to strength> ??? > Profit.

I already have a hard copy and this was my least favorite of the series. However, good for the people that want to play it that don't own the original copy or for those that have disks that don't work.

I think that would be fun and it would give reason for people who still own the game to buy it again.I know I would. I'm such a Trophy/Achievement Junkie LOL.

But even the leveling system in FF8 is kind of wierd, it abandons the usual FF leveling up and takes on more of a Suikoden Style of leveling with how you start each level with 1000 XP needed to level and then you would work that down.

Never played 8 or 9. It would be awesome to be able too, with out paying extorinate fees.
