I haven't even finished the first lol.

Me neither, but the sequel is looking pretty good, enough reason to finish XIII as soon as possible.

So why did they add QTEish segments during attacks? Is it to make it feel more "actiony" or what?
edidili
Yeah I think it is to give the game a more western feel.
QTE have nothing to do with adding a western feel. It was actually RE4 that made it popular.
As for the trailer, man those lines were corny. "Humans aren't strong, they die quickly" dramatic pose!
I probably should have added more to the post.
FF XIII-2 will play as a JRPG/WRPG mix.
We're getting branching story paths, multiple endings, different ways to complete quests, freedom to complete the story and side stories as one wishes, dialog choices, etc.
I doubt it but FFXIII-2 might end up feeling like a FF themed WRPG.
I received my final fantasy 13 ultimate hits a couple of days back. Didn't start the game though as I'm a total noob on jrpg, gonna get a guide book soon. So I'm really looking forward to this new one.glenn2709
You don't really need a guide book for it. The game is really easy till the final couple of chapters. Autobattle! I think that's what may have been Squeenix's intent was to create an easy and accessible JRPG for newbies to be able to jump into and not feel like they needed past gens experience in playing JRPGs.

I don't think you "need a guide" in any FF except for finding extra stuff, which doesn't really apply to FFXIII. I do think that battles in FFXIII can more easily get you killed, however ...

Yeah but you just restart right before it, so there's really no need to be careful.
I'd recommend looking up any missables before you start. You don't need a guide.

You restart before it to make up for the need to give you the opportunity to try again with a different strategy. If it didn't have the feature, it would be needlessly frustrating. You still have to be careful enough in battle to survive, and then there's the matter of trying for higher scores ...

Atleast FFXIII actually got harder by the end. Wish that could have been the same for FFVI-FFIX, which were easy throughout the whole entire game.
Why people complain about FFXIII being too easy is beyind me. It's as silly as people complaining about Twilight Princess being too easy, since all 3D zeldas are piss easy.

Yeah FF games aren't exactly known for their difficulty. Still I wish their would have been an option to just remove autobattle from the battle menu entirely. Sure you could default the cursor to Abilities but just seeing it there irked me.

it seemed you had the option of it being too easy(autoattack) or too complicated(selecting 5 different moves every turn) there wasn't any middleground. and you could only control 1 character, other than selecting the paradigm's. why do you only have a set combination of them, instead of being able to change an individual one, if you choose??[QUOTE="commonfate"]

Which surpirsed me when FF IX was so easy (there were no hard sections or bosses in that game). I found FF X quite difficult when it came to the dark aeons (Dark Yojimbo you cheap... person).

*sigh* really wish I got the Pal version so I could have faced the dark Aeons and Penance.
Then again I've never been able to defeat the strongest monsters in the monster arena. I suppose I could aim for that.
Final Fantasty XII was pretty freaking hard on some of the super secret bosses. You had to set your gambits up just right and still many times had to issue commands through the battle menu. I found myself often reverting it to pausing time every time I opened the battle menu because often you didnt have the luxury of thinking it out for a few seconds without getting majorly damaged.
