Final Fantasy XIV Beta is on PS4 to preload right now

Good idea for peeps to do this now if they wanna jump right in tomorrow morning as there's an update after linking/registering your account.

is it true that we can't load our current characters for this? if so, i guess i'll just wait for the official release to try it on PS4.

You can use your live characters in the beta afaik.

Edit: Just checked an apparently the first phase you'll be limited to a new character, but the second phase will allow you to use your live characters.

i'll be waiting til phase 2 then lol. i won't be playing officially on ps4, but it'll be nice when i want to relax on the couch for something easier like a ct run or something.

Took about 80 minutes to download it. PSN speeds have really improved.

Not a fan of the character wipe thing, so I'll just wait and get my collectors edition.

Eh, it's to be expected from a beta. It's what most of them do, though for an MMO it does suck more than say a game like Titanfall.

Only your character from phase 1 of the PS4 beta will be wiped, the character(s) you make in beta phase 2 you'll get to keep.

for this its different, considering its an established community. its even playable on ps3 already. it would've made sense that you'd get to keep them.

The beta for the 360 version of FFXI didn't have a wipe, it spoiled me. If I sink any time into a character, I want it to last. My LaLa white mage is going to be something I get attached to pretty quick, of that I have no doubt.

I will play this tonight and see what i've been missing out for 6 months
