PSN is free. no problemo with paying monthly for a mmorpg. Being a ps2 FF11 veteran myself i am a tad bit excited for this game. I would still rather have a everquest 3 for the ps3 to be honest.
Servers don't pay for themselves and lemmings can't complain about the fees (because otherwise Live fees come into question). Oh and of course sheep don't get to complain either, nintendo online is garbage.

I might get this to see how it compares to FFXI hopefully it launches simitameously like it's posted on the site. I also hope it's much different from FFXI.
This is getting annoying.... Runescape is a poor example. More than half the game is cut off unless you pay $7 a month. :| How about you at least READ about the game before basing it like other Internet zombie users? :roll: Runescape is really a pay to play game with a lite version you can play for free before deciding to pay for it or not.

Plus, it's not like there isn't free MMORPGs, because there are. I was just posting what I read...People need to calm down. This isn't Sony's game. Free MMORPG's often suck, or you get basically a demo, and have to pay to do anything outside of the first 10 levels. There really was no need at all for your post, as anyone with an ounce of common sense would know this already
I agree with the TC, i see no problem with his post, he's just passing information..no need for people to get defensive, because that's what i'm seeing in this thread right now...and oh....this is system wars over 90% don't have common sense.

In a actually free MMO you are super weak while people will buy stuff like a item that gives them +10 to all stats (not just one item has that, many do and they buy ALL of them, you they expire so you have to pay for them per month).

Good find, not sure why people are flaming about it saying "You do realzie it's an MMO, right?". lol You guys do realize there are MMO's free out there as well, right? Anyway, depending on if I get into Final Fantasy or not is riding on FFXIII so I might grab this depending on how much I like the series.

Any different from online shooters ect how? Online shooters are competitive matches, emphasize on competition... grinding is more the mindless and boring killing of monsters to max your level when there aren't any quests left.

S.E. is making the game. They charged for 11, why would they not charge for this. Sony has no control.

That actually doesn't matter, you don't need a Gold Subscription to play MMO's on XBL either.
I play FFXI as well, what server and jobs do you have? I have a 75SAM, 75THF and a 75DRK. (My mains)

Any different from online shooters ect how? Shooters are fun and each battle does not happen the exact same way. You are not grinding for experience or gear, you are just playing for fun and excitement. New maps get made for free by other players anf you can simply go to another server if the one you're on is bad with out paying a transfer fee. MMOs are carrots on a stick, nothing more. Get to level 40 to get your mount, get to the level cap for the real fun, now that you got all of tier one raid X dungeon for Y more months to get tier 2. It's stupid and pointless, you're playing to get something rather than for fun. And the lcick and watch gameplay is boring as hell. I play WoW as a online chatroom, the gameplay sucks and the art style looks really stupid (purple elves anyone? What bout hunched back characters? Oh joy!).
This looks almost like a Direct upgrade to Final Fantasy 11 I can already see the races in the trailer of Hume, Elvaan, and Galka, with the official site I see a Tarutaru and Mithra. Wether or not they will cut and run from FFXI when they release 14 is yet to be seen, but as long as people are willing to pay for one or both I can't see it happening.

It doesn't matter to me, they can act like children all they want. I did see a couple of people wonder, so I made this thread for them. I'm sure most of the people complaining about this thread were under the impression that I was trying to bash FF XIV for having a fee, which was not the case at all. I know better than that. But, something in each of their fanboy minds clicked when they read this, and went into attack mode for no reason at all. That's cool, though...They're the ones that look stupid.
